Security Council

The vehicle drove across the vast expanse of white ice, with not even a penguin in sight.

Black Widow was the driver, and Daisy, the younger agent was acting as a co-pilot. The two men were seated in the back.

"Aren't you guys cold?" To reduce the chances of being detected, they weren't using any heaters. The interior of the vehicle was as cold as an ice cellar, and Daisy felt like she was freezing. She gave up on maintaining her appearance and curled up in the car, asking a somewhat strange question to the three others.

Later, she realised it was a silly question. How could they not be cold? She at least had enhanced durability to withstand the cold, while the other three were relatively ordinary people, enduring the frigid temperatures with sheer willpower.

Daisy felt she couldn't back down either. Despite the extreme cold, she used a form of self-hypnosis to encourage herself and managed to hold on until they reached their destination coordinates.

Before them was an empty expanse, nothing but ice and icebergs, a barren landscape.

If they were just passing through, they wouldn't notice anything unusual. But with their suspicions, they carefully observed and noticed some inconsistencies.

"The light refraction here isn't right." Hawkeye looked around, quite certain of his observation.

The four of them huddled in a hollow, acting like lunatics as they pointed and gestured at the air, examining it closely.

"How can we get in without alerting the guards and take a look inside?" Fury pondered with his inner circle.

There was a secret ahead, but it still needed to be confirmed whether it was Nazis or not. If they found out it was a secret laboratory or a hidden base of some major power, S.H.I.E.L.D. could be in trouble.

They quickly devised a plan. Hawkeye shot an arrow to attract attention from a distance, then Black Widow swiftly set up a small jamming network to disrupt the enemy's invisibility defence, revealing a corner of the massive black building.

As the teleportation was initiated, Daisy calculated constants and found a seemingly unoccupied corner to jump into, bringing the others with her.

Before the teleportation had even finished, they had their weapons out and were scanning their surroundings. Luckily, Daisy's calculations were accurate, and they found themselves in an area without any enemies.

Solid and sturdy architectural styles filled their view. They were in a warehouse, surrounded by neatly arranged iron racks holding various types of medicines.

"The style matches our era, and these medicines are modern." Black Widow surveyed the surroundings and picked up a box of medicine, examining it under the relatively weak light.

"Let's go outside and see, Daisy, do you sense any enemies?"

Daisy, who had turned into a human radar, sensed around and then vaguely pointed to the northeast. "There's a corridor to the left as you exit, and there seems to be signs of life there. It's hard to determine the exact number of people from this distance."

Daisy stayed where she was; using the same parameters, she could teleport out from this spot again at any moment.

The reconnaissance task was assigned to the three of them, and they coordinated seamlessly, returning to the warehouse in less than five minutes.

Fury remained relatively composed, while Black Widow and Hawkeye were quite excited.

It wasn't about bearing a deep grudge against the Nazis, but in the current era, it was difficult to earn recognition and advancement. Striking against the Nazis was the right thing to do from any angle, and naturally, the two of them were pleased.

Daisy teleported with the three of them along the previously established resonance frequency back to the outside world. They quickly returned to the Snowstorm Base, shed their cold-weather gear, boarded fighter jets, and flew back to headquarters at full throttle.

"Agent Johnson, come with me to the Security Council." Outside Fury's office, Nick Fury called Daisy over.

To be able to show her face to the higher-ups, Daisy certainly wouldn't object. She calmly followed him into the room.

Secret doors, elevators, specialised floors – Daisy followed for twenty minutes, entering a spacious office with four holographic imaging devices placed at the center.

In less than five minutes, Alexander Pierce, the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and a dignified member of the Security Council, entered the office. He hadn't received any prior notice, whether from S.H.I.E.L.D. or Hydra; Nick Fury had merely asked him to attend the meeting.

Director Pierce felt somewhat anxious, but he maintained a gentle expression on his face, like a retired senior staff member.

Seeing the new face of Daisy, he smiled kindly, as if looking at a promising junior.

It had to be said, compared to Nick Fury, who often wore a stern expression, Director Pierce seemed much more affable.

With warm greetings, he acknowledged Daisy. Considering his indirect help in retrieving the Terrigen Crystals, Daisy courteously responded.

Soon, the video connections were established one by one, and the four representatives of the Security Council appeared at their respective locations.

"Commander Nick Fury, are you coming to the Council to ask for more money again?" A sharp-eyed bald elderly man spoke first, his words tinged with displeasure.

"Yeah, where is our money going? Commander, we need to know the truth!"

"Exactly, Nick Fury, we support you in protecting the world, but you also need to be accountable to our own country!"

The four of them acted like they were at a public criticism meeting, not mincing words, giving Fury a thorough dressing down from start to finish. The underlying message was clear: no funds!

Fury's lips curled into a slight smile; this time, he could finally hold his head high.

He gestured to Daisy with a slight nod, and she swiftly sent the collected evidence to the council members. Then she handed a tablet to the bewildered Pierce.

The four people on the screen were momentarily stunned, and even Pierce appeared astonished.

Hydra's internal structure was complex; he truly had no idea that remnants of the Nazis still existed in the world.

There was no means of communication between the two factions, so there was no way to pass on messages. Moreover, Hydra had already distanced itself from the Nazis during the era of the Red Skull. They were not the same organization anymore.

He rapidly weighed the pros and cons in his mind, while the four council members on the screen began to look less composed.

A white-haired elderly woman's voice trembled slightly, "Commander Nick Fury, are these photos from your film company, trying to deceive us?"

Fury chuckled awkwardly, Daisy looked at him with a sidelong glance; she guessed that he had indeed entertained this idea at first...

"Ladies and gentlemen of the council, these are all authentic and accurate on-site evidence. They were collected by me and my team personally. Do you still think S.H.I.E.L.D. is spending too much money? This is the value of money!"

On the way, he had discussed the cause of the incident with Daisy. Considering that Japan's internal situation had already turned chaotic, directly revealing the name of the Yashida Corporation could have international repercussions.

Daisy intended to downplay her information sources, while Fury wanted to attribute the entire incident to the continuous investigation efforts of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Their ideas coincided, and he gave Daisy an opportunity to perform. Promotion and a salary increase were minor matters; now, the Nazis had become a collective achievement of S.H.I.E.L.D. under Fury's leadership.
