Transcending Limits

(To Old and New Readers: I plan to rewrite Transcending Limits sometime in 2024. It'll be started as a new book, however. And given the state of things, I don't have an exact date to when I'd start TL.) “Why am I so awesome?” Sheng Tian sighed for the ninth time as he proudly stood on a mountain cliff. The ground below was dyed red as the three people behind him pitifully spat out blood. They were trembling as they pointed their fingers weakly at the handsome Sheng Tian and shouted “Bastard! We had a deal! You go left and we go right! We split the loot fifty-fifty." "Yet you...you betrayed us!” The strong, fair skinned young man in the middle of the three exclaimed, glaring at Sheng Tian and punching the ground with his bloodied fist. Sheng Tian bestowed the group with a generous smile as he gently shook his head and said, “My fellow cultivators, I can’t let you commit such terrible crimes. I shall bear all the sins by taking the entire loot.” Then he raised his head and looked up at the sky, sighing once more in melancholy. “If I don’t go to hell, who will? Ai, Why am I so righteous?” The three speechless young men coughed out another mouthful of blood due to sheer anger and fainted on the spot. Sheng Tian lamented he closed his eyes. “No one can understand my plight. It’s so lonely at the top!” “Yeah, the top of shamelessness.” A female voice sounded in his head as his expression changed into a grimace. …………… Warning: *Sheng Tian is a very humble and kind person.* PS: This is not a Wish Fulfilment Story, *ahem*, well, clearly it is the manifestation of the Author’s wish to write a Fulfilling story. :P Disclaimer: *The Cover doesn’t belong to me. If the Owner of it wishes for me to take it down, please contact me through discord.* *** *** *** Editor’s Synopsis: “I found you on the streets.” Sheng Tian's life turned upside down that day. Nearly starved to death, he wished to end his life. Only a burning desire to have the freedom to do what he longed for and a small hope to uncover his mysterious past kept him going. The bottom most point of life became his rock solid foundation as he turned carefree, aspirant and expectant towards life. However, before his aspirations were realised, he was accidentally killed. As if pre-ordained by the Grand Dao, he ended up obtaining “Absolute Origin”; which the gods coveted, immortals dreamed and the Celestials drooled, that even the ancient of legends had no idea of. What is the truth of Absolute Origin? Will he find the “freedom” he always longed for? Was his death really accidental? Lets kill the author and revive the story

October 12th:

Transcendent has woken up at his usual timing.

After freshening up, he checked the time. 7:30. Grabbing some breakfast, he took his bag and dashed off to the Lecture Hall. Today's lectures start at 8. With the looming winter chills, it's pure torture.

After the lectures ended, Transcendent was about to talk to a friend when his phone buzzed.

"Finish the Assignment." it said.

Shaking his head, he dashed off to the library and sat down.

During those tedious hours, Youtube tried to seduce him, scribd tried to distract him, and his mind was protesting.

'Damn it. I need to get this done.' he gritted his teeth and continued.

"Phew. That was tiring. Now, I can finally..." "Buzz"

"What? Majors are starting on Nov 16th?" as if his heart leaped out, Transcendent started to tremble uncontrollably.

"But...But....I have yet to edit Transcending Limits.." he choked.

'Fufufu. You didn't even finish the second layer's outline. When will you write it?' a devilish voice said in his mind.

'No. I was only thinking for a long time so that I can be satisfied with the quality. I can finish the outline now. But I want to do it right!' he yelled desperately, at the unknown voice and at himself.

'Are you sure? You can chose to avoid it if you want to.' the voice grew softer like a cotton ball and hit the deepest parts of his soul.

A blank look appeared in his eyes.

Give up?

Then what would that make of him as a person? Didn't he always want to write that one Eastern Fantasy he can read without putting down? What would happen to that dream? What about the readers who he knew and didn't?

A fierce light shone in his eyes, blazing away all the darkness in his mind.

'After all the hours spent on it, how can I give it up?' Clenching his fist, Transcendent took a deep breath and looked for the voice within.

It was gone.

From that day, he started researching on stories in the free time he got.

But the more he read, the more he realised how much he can improve the story.

It was inspirational, but also intimidating to see the long road.

However, he was grateful. Many don't even get to see the road in their lifetime and hence, cannot appreciate the satisfaction that comes with the journey's hardships.

Then, he started writing: Plotting, world building, characters, the system, cultures, history.

But most of the times, he was...thinking.

The ideas danced in his head. His experiences often mixed with the plots to create better and more interesting points.

Even when he wasn't thinking actively, he knew, at the back of his mind, those thoughts were swirling, as his subconscious tried to figure out better and better solutions. s

The idea he thought of a week ago would come back on a night in the perfect form. A story he read would inspire him to increase his standards in a department. The dreams he had would sometimes give away valuable insights.

Finally, battling his indolence and time, he finished the outline of the first part. It is very solid compared to the one he previously had.

He was advised to immediately start writing it down. It was still 3 weeks before exams. He could afford it.

Yet, he refused.

He didn't want to do a half-assed job. Not again.

If he is going to write it, he is gonna plan everything and refine it to the best of his capabilities.

He had enough of feeling ashamed at his own writing. Now is time to change.

Even if takes long, even if it's painful, the long road cannot stop him from moving forward.

He is the author of Transcending Limits.

P.S: I have holidays from 28th of this month till 30th of December. So, you're free to roast me for more chapters if I'm being lazy during that time.

I intended to write a comedic version, but then I realised I just want to talk about what's happening on my side. So, this is what we have.

The ones in the discord should've know that I was thinking and planning...literally for over 4 weeks for now.

I know this is a lot of time, but if I had to write something I won't be satisfied with or wait longer and work harder for better quality, unequivocally, I'd pick the latter.

That said, I think there still needs to be a schedule.

Thinking shouldn't be an indolence and I agree that I wasn't doing the best I could. At times which aren't too few, I was lazing around too.

Schedule:

28th(Nov)—Everything gets done.

29th and 30th(Nov)—Test, trial, feedback and Streamlining.

1st—(Re)Start(Dec)—BOOM!
