CHAPTER 23

The Robinsons finally fixed the grande wedding of their son with Kristine, which would be commencing in four months time. Everyone in the town couldn't stop talking about it.

Rebecca was the one that announced the sad news to us.

She met I and Emman at the field weeping. I was really moved by her tears and curious to find out the reason she was in tears.

"Why are you shedding tears Rebecca?". I asked her concernedly.

""Damian's wedding has been fixed." She said to us.

I exchanged glances with Emman, and I noticed a certain kind of happiness on his face. He always wanted the wedding to happen, so I wasn't surprised at all.

"Oh finally." Emman said out of relief.

"You're inhumane. You don't care if I would also be affected here." Rebecca queried him.

I forced out a smile, pretending to be okay with the news. Rebecca noticed the sadness in my face, and she wanted us to talk in a quiet place. She dragged my hand, taking me to the corner of the field.

"Bianca, ain't you gon' say something?". She asked me.

"Say what dear? His family has chosen his path and you should accept it." I said to her.

"What about you? You don't seem okay with the sad news." She revealed.

I tried faking up a laughter but it was obvious I was pretending. Rebecca gave me a dead stare, that almost felt like a gun shot in my heart. I returned back the looks at her, while she wondered what was going inside my hear at the moment.

*****The Robinson's mansion*****

Anna was the happiest here. Ever since she heard that Damian's wedding with Kristine has been fixed, she's really been out of this world.

She decided to visit the bride to be in her room the next morning. Angela was just waking up from bed. Anna bugged her, by playing with her cheeks.

"Anna stop! that hurts please." Kristine cried out in disgust.

'I am very happy and I don't want anything to spoil my mood now." Anna said to her.

Kristine brought down Anna's hands down, looking at her face. She wanted to know the reason behind Anna's happiness.

"What's making you so happy?". She asked her keenly.

"My brother is getting married to you soon." Anna replied chantily.

Kristine couldn't help but laugh out loud. She now knew the reason for Anna's happiness. She smiled at Anna, opening her arms for a hug.

"Sorry for the way I acted earlier. I had no clue that was the reason you were happy." Kristine said to her.

"No problem, congratulations once again." Anna said to her, rubbing her back gently.

Damian was in his private court room, trying to distract himself by reading some ancient war books. He wasn't happy about the entire arrangement and he blamed himself for it. Maybe if he had brought a lady home earlier, there wouldn't be any Kristine in the picture.

"Hmm..hum hmm." Someone coughed from behind.

Damian turned his head backwards, and it was his older sister at the door. Laurel walked in, walking towards his direction. She sat on the table before him, grabbing the book from his hand. He was confused by her poise. She was acting seductive towards him, and it felt very strange to him.

"What are you doing huh?". He asked her, raising his brows at her.

""Don't mind me. I'm just trying to mimic Kristine." Laurel said to him.

She really got him for the past few minutes. Damian chuckled at her earlier actions, before frowning his face again. He wondered why his older sister wasn't supporting him at all, even though they had a special bond together.

"You look very sad. A groom to be should be very happy that he would be getting married soon." She said to him.

"Groom my foot." Damian resented in disgust.

Laurel wasn't expecting such a cold reply, but she wasn't surprised at his manner of approach. He was never in support of the marriage from the beginning.

"I wish I can help but I can't." She said to him.

"You can still help me out, by pressuring mother to call off the damn wedding." Damian said to her.

"On one condition." Laurel said.

Damian was left in suspense, and he would do anything to make sure that he doesn't get married to Kristine. He was waiting to hear her condition and he hoped in his heart that it wasn't going to be an easy one.

"What could that be?". He asked.

"You'll bring the girl you want to get married to, to me within one month." Laurel said to him.

"What if you don't like her?". He asked.

"Then you'll have to marry Kristine." She replied coldly.

Laurel stood up from the table, about taking her leave. She returned back the book to Damian before she left the court room. That condition was really a difficult one for Damian.

"This is a tempting condition." Damian whisphered to himself.

On the other hand was Emman, out of his yard having a close conversation with his aunt Gusto. He trust her so much and was comfortable discussing about his personal life with her.

"Is there any problem?". She asked him.

"I don't know if I should be happy or think about Julienne." Emman said to her.

"About Damian's upcoming wedding?". She asked him.

Emman kept quiet for some minutes, nodding his head. Aunt Gusto already knew that he had a romantic kind of feelings for me. He might not have told her anything about that, but she knows him too well like as if he was her son.

"She's pretending. I know that she's not happy that Damian is getting married to Kristine." Emman said to her.

"while on the other is you. This news is your happiest." She replied him.

"But then, I don't want to sound selfish." He replied sadly.

Aunt Gusto tapped his shoulder gently, trying to get him off the sad mood. He was thinking about me in the entire situation and how I would be and feel through out.

It is best if Damian's finally gets married to the one that suits his background. It will also save me from unnecessary dramas in the future.
