To Walk The Mist (Move To A New Link)

(This is the better-edited version. The free version as a gift from this author for going on hiatus too long.) Ed is not from this world. Last he remembered he had been on a quest to save someone's life, a debt he must repay. But he was deceived. stuck in a place called the mist, a bridge between worlds, time and space itself, a place gods would not go, he must not only find his way home, he must find out who he is, that the entire universe aims to kill him. With past lives to uncover and companions that should not walk any world. Will he lose himself to the mist or become what he has forgotten? both roads lead to doom, but whose? (Hi, the author here. I went on a year-long hiatus and am back. this is the better-edited version of this book posted here cause the new chapters are better structured and the old needed editing. I will post the new chapters on whichever platform has the most readers, though I am hoping it is this one because the edits are here. Enjoy.)

Meeting the blood witch (1)

Nti Anem saw Ed approach him and the exit close behind him. He looked at the shuttle about to leave and got on, with Ed behind him. When the two stepped onto the shuttle, there were three people in it; one young woman and two young men, one of whom was Sen Ke. The other two only glanced at Ed and Nti Anem before looking away. When Sen Ke saw them enter he tensed. He had rushed away onto the shuttle right after escaping, he was not sure if Ku Jian had followed them. When the shuttle door closed and the wooden room lifted into the air, only then did he sigh in relief, but still looked at the others with caution. Will they blame him for separating them from their companion?

"Oh?" It's an air shuttle?" Nti Anem said, taking a seat beside Ed. The next moment, Ed released young Master Fu from his space bag onto the wooden shuttle floor.

"You put him in there? What if he died?" Nti Anem bent to check young Master Fu's pulse. When the man and woman companion on the side saw this, they paused. They had taken the opportunity to leave the tower the moment the tests were disengaged. They were not like others who were easily distracted by little things. Still, they had known that this Young Master fu was intending to get revenge for his sister's death on the lower levels of the tower and expected he would win. Unlike the others, they had known that the old man following him around was a soul-realized being. After all, the woman between the two was one herself.

Even though they had not watched the proceedings of the match, they were sure that this team even if grouped together would not be able to fight the soul-realized being. But only one of them was fighting him; the rankless. How did they manage to take Young Master Fu away in that state in the presence of a soul realized being guard?

The young woman was not only curious, she was now cautious. This team must have something up their sleeves, a weapon or treasure that can stand a soul-realized being.

"Oh, thank god it's a growth space bag you have," Nti Anem sighed in relief.

"Why?" Ed asked.

"Or else he would have died inside the bag. You don't put living things just anywhere," Nti Anem explained.

"Can you take out the eternal fire?" Ed asked.

"Sure," Nti Anem nodded and looked back at Ed, "You can put him back in. When we reach our destination, I will extract it," he said and Ed took back young Master Fu into his space bag with a swipe of his hands.

"Are you okay though?" Nti Anem asked and Ed raised a brow. Then he noticed he was revering to his injury.

"The bleeding has stopped," Ed said.

"The old pervert did not give you recovery pills? That his alchemist friend has a high constitution, he should be able to make you god pills," Nti Anem asked.

"It's there. I don't know what they are through," Ed said and Nti Anem sighed. How could he forget that Ed is not from this world and when he arrived, he had spent a good amount of time locked inside a useless valley?

"Let Me see. No matter if this is the mist or not, you can still die in here," he said and Ed swiped his hand allowing different jade bottles to appear before him like a large horde.

"Oh, that old pervert went too far. One would think he would not give you anything, yet he went this far? I guess he doesn't wish to kill you," Nti Anem said as he got up and sorted through the large pile before them. Though the shuttle was travelling fast, it was quite stable for one to move about.

Those around gulped at the sight of this amount of high-ranked alchemy pills. The woman looked at the two with a slight frown. These two were acting as though there was no one around. They did not fear us stealing from them? They did not fear meeting people stronger than them and having to give up their treasures; wasn't this looking down on them?

Nti Anem went through the pills till he found one that he wanted and took a flask out from the pile.

"This is it," he said and Ed waved his hand, taking back the entire pile into his space.

"Excuse me, one of the flasks was an emperor-grade recovery pill, this lady would like to buy it off you," the woman said and Ed only glanced at her before looking away. He received the pill from Nti Anem and swallowed it. Even though the wind arrow had pierced through him, helping him gain an understanding of the principles of wind, it did not change the fact that he had been pierced right in the middle.

"That old pervert has a point. What has the ability to kill you must be special," Nti Anem said.

The lady who had spoken was completely annoyed by their total disregard for her. Cold air sipped from her into the air at that moment, but she was stopped by the young man beside her.
