To the East

I wasn’t so sure if it was my own blood stained my wedding dress. I was so sure that I bathed in crimson as I tried to catch my breath. I held my chest as I can feel the pain for the bullet thoroughly tormented my flesh. My vision was blurry as I tried to see my groom with his devilish look while pointing a gun at me. I’m sure he already fired it, as I tried to stop the blood oozing from my chest. Tears rolled down as I recalled how happy I am at his grand proposal. How he whispers the endless “I love you” to me. How his lips brushed mine as he held me in his embrace.  How sweet his smiles as it were purposely painted like the sun on clear blue skies. Hugo. I looked at him with bitterness as I tried to brush off my tears. I don’t understand why our love ends up like this.  All the love I had shattered as I looked this unfamiliar man in front of me. He walked towards me and he pointed the gun he held in his hands earlier. “My sweetest Jane.” He planted a departing kiss as I tried to talk back but my lips won’t move. My body was trembling with fear with the monster that is willing to end my life.  “I know you must be shocked at this state.” As he played few strands of my hair as I tried to reach him to retaliate but my trembling hands landed at his face, stained his handsome face with the blood from my chest. My tears won’t stop from flowing as I watch him laugh hideously; he held my hands and feels it in his face. I could still feel the warmth in his face.  “Hu..Hugo…Please help me.” Trying to survive and plead. I wonder if one touch could appease his anger and withdraw his gun from my head. “Shhhhhhh….. Don’t cry love. You won’t be alone in your afterlife. You may join your beloved parents, what do you think?” My parents, their faces flashed in my mind as they were supportive in my wedding with Hugo. They were the one who arrange this whole thing as their only cherished daughter. I trembled with wrath as I grabbed his collar with my might. This cursed creature! “What did I do to deserve this!” I shouted with all my voice that left with me. I couldn’t let him go as I gather my strength to get even for my parents. My naïve parents who blindly supported me to be with him.  He laughed evilly and I couldn’t know him. I stood in silence as I listened him laughed in my state, Hugo have you ever loved me? Thought crossed my mind. “You were too stubborn to believe that I loved you Jane. You were easily deluded that I need to get rid of you.”  So this must be the most hurting words I heard. I let him go from my grasp. I know he was waiting seconds to end my life it was that I am a bit impatient. “Indeed I am deluded Hugo. I regret falling in love with you wholeheartedly.” I pulled the trigger from the gun he pointed at me and I fell into darkness. Everything was a lie. Before I totally lose my senses, I could hear a woman calling Hugo and stood toward his side. I could still gaze at the approaching shadow and it became clearer and clearer. I clenched my face of what I saw. It was my sister, Allison and behind her were my parents. I wanted to laughed with the twist of events. Nobody know I could still heard them talking in my dying self. I could feel my mother’s hand wring my neck to sure that I will die. I could not resist.  My death was stage. My death was….

Merely to Survive

A cold touch to my face woke me. It was unfamiliar that I opened my eyes to look at it. It was from a man with unfamiliar face greeted me as I saw a relief in his eyes. I stared at him blankly and he also do the same.

Ah, it must be afterlife, I thought as I glances behind him a different place.

I could sense a murderous intent from him who looked at me as if I committed a grave mistake. Ah, indeed I did- to trust that horrible person with all my heart.

"Perhaps you are awake from your senses now." He said as he placed his hands in my shoulder. His hands are like claw that wanted me to imprison from his grip. I stared at him quietly as I try to figure out what's going on. His handsome face leans towards me yet his distant and cold eyes scared me.

I grabbed the sheets beneath me as I tried to support my trembling body.

What is going on? I wonder.

I'm supposed to be dead.

Beads of sweat streaked down in my face as I feel the unusual heat within me.

"I…." I muttered but I stuttered as he leaned closer and totally pinned me down. His large hand got my wrists and his other hand grabbed by robe.

I am so sure that I died in my wedding day but I wonder why I suffer again in the afterlife. I need peace after all.

"Don't tell me that you will run away on our wedding night for that prince again?" he asked while he opened my robe and exposed my chest.

Prince? Wedding night? Run away? This is seems vague scenario to me. I am Jane Tria. I am nothing but a renowned novelist that was murdered by my groom. This isn't seemed right.

I struggled from his sensual touches as I pushed my body to the extent and I pinned him down instead.

"I didn't know that a noble and elegant daughter of the Count Gremoire could do such audacity such as this?" he teased as played few masses of my hair spilled on his body as I pinned him. "This is new Maia."

Maia? I looked behind me if there is another entity that he was referring to. Scanning the room and discover none, I come into a conclusion that he was referring to me. I saw my reflection on the mirror and I saw a different woman in front of me. Don't tell me that! I gasped and collapsed back to the bed as he moved and we changed our position again. This time he tightened his arms around me as trying to not let me escape again.

"You ran off with the crown prince this morning as you tried to elope with him. Don't you think I need to punish you as your lawful husband?" he asked as he nibbled my left ear that put me to chills.

"You must be mistaken." I protest. I don't know what did the previous owner of this body done but I need to survive this time. "I don't know what you are talking about."

Memories directly flashed in my mind. It gives me the gist of this woman's body that originally eloped with the prince. The prince's face flashed in my mind and I furiously recalled that demon's face. Hugo. It is definitely the crown prince's face. This woman named Maia was head over heels with that bastard but he pushed her into the cliff while wearing that same cursed smile. He still throws the same lines as it still echoed in my ear that I feel dizzy. My vision was blurry as desperately clung to this unknown man. I held him in my embrace as I battle the pain in my head.

"Help me…" I cried as I slowly knock off my senses.

"You truly are witch." Czarrino grinned as he carries his bride to his bed chambers. She dared to escape on her wedding day as soon as they exchange vows but what surprised him most is that they found her collapse in the riverbanks still in his domains. He must put an end to this affair. That vicious prince must be dealt accordingly as well. He looked at Maia still trembling in his embrace. He must also discipline his beloved wife.
