Zev kept his eyes long at his friend while he patted the part of his arm where Kaiden had hit him just now. He contorted his face into the expression that made it seem like he was hurting so much from the spank. Kaiden simply gawked at him, with an expression of being crossed at him.
Zev soon faltered a nervous laugh to clear the air.
''Ha ha. Don't mind me. The smack doesn't hurt like I'm painting it to be.''
''Yeah, you should feel damn lucky that I didn't go for a punch instead.''
''Wha.. C'mon man. Why would you possibly want to overreact about this?''
''Overreact—?! Did you just call my behaviour, over the board?'' Kaiden fumed at him.
''What else should I have said? I mean look at those eyes..'' Zev cut him a nervous stare.
''Okay, fine.'' Kaiden settled. ''I admit I should not have hit you but why did you have to lie to her about it?''
Kaiden set the pace now.
