When Jake strutted curiously to check who was at the door, he did not expect it to be Gabriel. 

Hell yeah!

It could have been the Mayor even who he got to see standing by his door side, and yes!, that would have been a more believable prospect.

But Gabriel?

He did not expect that he would be bold enough to chase him down to his place. 

Chase!, that's right.

Jake was of the opinion that Gabriel had chased him to his place.

But the big question was:

''What in the world are you doing here?!'' Jake shouted his words to him in an outrage.

This was some sick move he'd pulled off. Jake wondered if he still had the brains to remember how Spence had threatened him off after that note incident. Either he no longer remembered his Uncle's warning to have him, Gabriel, stay a thousand miles away from his nephew. Or Gabriel had just bothered to try the dare.

Maybe he wanted to see if Jake's Uncle would outlive his threats or not.
