The sunrays bounced from the deep blue of the ocean, the sea glimmering like diamonds when a small fishing boat docked to the harbour of country Qiu.
It had been a quiet morning, and the old fisherman had caught little fish - just enough for his wife to sell on the market for the day. The market would open in an hour, so the man took a seat by the nose of his boat, dipping his feet in the cold water, and enjoyed the view.
Autumn was already here. The gold leaves rained over the pier, scattering over the water. The man followed the leaves as they slowly floated out to the open sea towards the unknown.
The man whistled to himself, his leather-like skin wrinkling as he squinted towards the horizon. His feet kicked the surface of the water as he studied the ship sailing towards the harbour.
A pirate ship. Masts shaped like gigantic fins of a sea monster cutting through the surface of the calm blue.
Damn pirates, all right.
