Running with Wolves

Kiro didn't feel any pain when he woke up. He just felt a lot of fur. Kiro sat up on what appeared to be fur blankets in some sort of tree cave thing.

"You're awake!" Toma chirped scarring Kiro out of his grogginess. Kiro looked at the white fox and sighed.

"I wasn't sure if I'd died again. Though, I'm not sure if I died the first time." Kiro looked around the cave but couldn't find an entrance or an exit. "What happened?"

"The forest guardian found rare traits in you that he likes. Just like Cheone. She saw kindness and found it to her liking." Toma flutted around until landing on Kiro's shoulder and sucking on his ear. He was kinda getting used to it.

"What now?" Kiro asked deciding to sit down and save his energy just in case.

"Now we wait." Kiro hated those words. It rated up there with update required or disc not able to read. It meant he'd be board with nothing to do and he absolutely hated that.

Twelve minutes later, which felt like two hours to Kiro, the tree barck in front of him opened. The light outside was bright but as the figures came in, he could make them out. Twenty or so gorgeous women walke in followed by three great looking guys and a single large male with so many muscles, Kiro almost wanted to start exercising again. Almost.

"What's your name, male?" The beefcake's deep voice bounced off the surrounding walls.

"I'm Kiro Higame, and you?" Kiro bowed in greeting.

"I am the great forest guardian, Thannon. I have never met a human so brave and stupid all at once. However, I owe my life to thee. Name a prize and it is yours.

"You wouldn't have any pretzels on hand, would you?" Kiro asked more hopeful than he should be.

"What are pretzels?" Thannon asked confused. Even his wolf ears on top his head tilted.

"Nevermind. I don't need a reward. To be perfectly honest, I was returning a favor. A giant white rabbit was chasing me and you took care of it." Kiro's words echoed on the silence around him.

"You're the one that lured the last demon to me?" Thannon said in awe. Whispers started up around the group of wolves. "I've been hunting the last demon of these woods for over ten years and never found him. He hid himself among the normal fauna and waited. It seems I owe you even more than we thought. Thanks to your actions, our clan has finally completed it's revenge and can live peacefully."

"Way to go, Kiro!" Toma danced on Kiro's shoulder.

"Please let us repay you." Thannon bowed his head slightly.

"I really don't need anything. I'm not from here so I wouldn't even know where to begin asking for stuff." Kiro tried to gently refuse. He really wanted some pretzels, but he was pretty sure he wasn't going to get any here.

"Perhaps the blade of the forest?" A female voice chimed in.

"That blade has been hidden deep in the forest for nearly a thousand years." One of the men gasped.

"It was only so hard to get to because of the demons. The last has been destroyed. The blade will be easy to find now with our noses. We can smell the magic blade." The same female stated with many nodding behind her.

"It wouldn't hurt to look for some of our ancient grounds now that we can. We should seize the land before others do." Another woman stood up with her booming voice.
