Ch 217: Jaw Dropper

After I recuperate from entering another dimension, I stood from the ground. To the front of my view was a large lake that stretched out for miles. On that side was flat land. Then there were these tallest trees I'd ever seen in all my twenty-four years. Further out behind my back were more of these trees. In the distance from both left and right were more forests, vegetation, plateaus, slopes, shrubs, and mountains.

Overall, I was in awe of how exquisite the landscape is. Suddenly, beneath my feet, this vibration stomped the ground. This loud long groan roared behind me.

I turned around saying, "Oh, my gosh!"

My mouth hit the dirt when I saw this Brachiosaurus going into the lake. Its rough skin was a dusty red color and its face was a muddy tinge.

"This can't be real," I whisper nearly in tears of joy.

Angled to my front, Kai told me, "I can assure you that he's very real."

"He?" I questioned when more of the herd came out from hiding in the tall forest. From taller to smaller filled the area just a mere 50 yards away, across the lake from us.

"Ya, he's the Alpha of the herd. In this dimension dinosaurs didn't go extinct, " Kai enthralled me.

Teardrops were sliding down my cheeks. I watched them eat from the tall leafy trees. Others were taking a drip in the refreshing, lengthy, and wide lake. Those theories about the Brachiosaurus on earth wouldn't come close. We thought they didn't care for their young when in fact, I am witnessing that they do. The mothers feed their little ones. Their babies were far too little to reach those tall trees because the infants were about the size of a full-grown Great Dane. So the mothers stripped a branch and laid it on the ground for the babies.

"Are you crying, Princess?" Aside from my right, Rome asked me.

"No!" I denied it and everyone chuckled when I discreetly wiped my teardrops dry.

"Must be those pregnancy hormones," one of the guardians said, standing somewhere to my left.

"Let's set up camp," Kai ordered and everyone veered off to do that.

Rome, Jack, and six guardians started to dig out two holes for an underground fire pit. Two guardians set up one tent. The rest of the guardians left hastily and returned just as quickly with logs and sticks to burn.

Kai took me to the side and tells me strictly. "It's important that you stay within the staked markers. There is an invisible force field that sends a sound wave into the dinosaur's brain core that they can't tolerate."

I looked around and saw the chrome stakes in the surrounding area. Then I gestured to understand, so he continued. "The water is safe to be near. Nothing can get too close to us. There is no pollution in this world. So you can't bathe in the lake or leave any trash behind."

"I never litter," I said, rolling my eyes.

Kai reworded, "I am only stating because the people from this planet have adapted to living with dinosaurs."

"Like how?" I asked, inquisitively.

"Underneath the ground, the whole planet is encased with metal magnetic plates. Each time those dinosaurs move. Those sound waves hit the plates and bounce off them. It tames the frequency given off by the friction and vibration dinosaurs create. It keeps the buildings and housing durable to stand. Not even a disastrous earthquake could bring those buildings down. The chrome stakes keep the dinosaurs from destroying their cities and communities. And their vehicles ran on the magnetic field from the underground plates. They do not use any types of fuel that would cause pollution. Mostly everything is run by natural resources and by magnets."

I peeked at the underground fire pit and then asked. "Won't the smoke from the fire be too sensitive for the dinosaurs?"

Kai replies, "Those stakes filter the smoke, so they can't smell it."

"I say this planet is ahead of the game," I stated.

Kai said, vaguely, "Overall, this planet and many others defeat any physics from your planet." He then looked over my shoulder and seemed distant. "Your tent is set up. Go change into shorts and a top before you bake yourself. Then you can relax while we set up camp."

Being stingy, Kai walked away to help with whatever had yet to be done. After I changed from my warmer clothes, I took out my notebook from my backpack that Kai told me to bring. Then I sat near the lake. I drew pictures and wrote many notes about the Brachiosaurus herd. Too bad I couldn't bring my phone to take pictures. But Kai told me it would be useless in this world.

To come from the left was a herd of triceratops that joined the Brachiosaurus herd. They were huge in muscle mass. They had a grayish-purple skin color and their babies were cute and pudgy. The babies were a camouflage color to help protect them from predators.

"Rome almost has lunch ready for you," Kai's crisp voice arrived from behind me.

I rolled my eyes and stood to confront him. "How long are you going to keep up with this ignorant attitude toward me?" I asked, ignorantly. Overhearing me, his friends peeked over at us.

"How long are you going to keep siding with those Mills?" He asked, aggressively.

"Unbelievable," I say, shouting. "They're my friends..."

"Yes, and Orlando is your lover," Kai cut me off. "Yet, you caught him cheating on you at the bar before you left for Egypt. You found him in bed with Ashley. Then I showed you he was kissing another girl at the club. Right after he tells you he'll get you free from me. You deny what you saw and only give him excuses."

I bite hard not to cry, but boy did he ever strike that sensitive nerve in my heart.

"Alejandro was the one at the club that night before I left for Egypt," I say clear as day. "Orlando has always been faithful until you got between us! All those scandalous photos you showed me before we got married were of Alejandro dating different girls. You only edited those photos to make it look as if Orlando was blameworthy."

Kai's eyes darken deathly as he said. "Alejandro is married! Never once had he cheated on his wife. He only takes the blame so his brother could cheat behind your back. Orlando has no regard for you."

"You liar!" I yell and take off running.
