Prologue: The First Clash

In the frontlines of the battle between the candidates and the warrior-class terror kaos jotunn, Caspian and Vulcan were charging towards the monster with no hesitation and delay. Despite feeling intense fear in their hearts, the two knew they were the only ones who could fight against the warrior-class terror.

While charging towards the giant monstrous abomination, a message resonated throughout their ears. It was the discovery of the warrior-class terror's weakness. And it made the two more confident, especially with a clear goal in mind while facing a mighty opponent.

Along with the two were hundreds of ice soldiers serving as a buffer against the warrior-class terror. They charged at the same speed as the two while slowly separating into numerous groups. After a short while, the distance between the two and the warrior-class terror became close, and the deadly close-range battle was about to start.

It would be a terrifying experience, but an experience nonetheless.

Caspian opened his hands as a spear of light materialized before his fingers. He then grabbed it and threw it with his hands toward the eyes of the monster. Unfortunately for him, the kaos jotunn effortlessly blocked the spear with its hands making Caspian's initial attack meaningless. Or was it?

Vulcan had passed below the four giant feet of the warrior-class terror. While the ice soldiers were about to make contact with the giant monster. In itself, Vulcan was now behind the monstrous abomination, giving him a chance to strike the neck of the terror. Obviously, Vulcan waited for a good opportunity while Caspian circled around the giant.

'How do I go there?' Vulcan couldn't help but thoughtfully question himself as the ice soldiers started attacking the feet of the warrior-class terror. The kaos jotunn squinted its demonic eyes as it looked at the hundreds of ice soldiers trying to attack it with a hit-and-run tactic.

*WRRAHHH!!!*

The warrior-class terror roared as an intense wind passed through the vast plains in the island's interior. While it hindered a lot of them, it didn't bring any more things other than suppression. Though... That was enough for the kaos jotunn as it began swinging its club toward the hundreds of ice soldiers.

Yukina furrowed her eyebrows upon seeing this and ordered her soldiers to separate from each other and scatter. Following this order, the ice soldiers continued the separation while doing the same hit-and-run tactic everywhere. The warrior-class terror growled, meaning that Yukina's job was a success.

After circling the monstrous abomination, Caspian then proceeded to cut through one of the four ankles of the warrior-class terror. Sadly, despite the high penetration of her arcana. Caspian couldn't pierce through the kaos jotunn's fur and skin. With this result, he gritted his teeth and retreated from the giant legs.

A couple of seconds later, instead of simply using the club to attack the ice soldiers and bring destruction everywhere, the kaos jotunn began stomping anyone or anything below it. The earth shook numerous times and, as a result, made morale plummet.

But before this could continue, help from the assaults had finally arrived. Maia threw her first fireball toward the terror's head while it was stomping the ice soldiers on the ground. Luckily, it hit the kaos jotunn right in the face creating a loud explosion. *BOOM!!!*

Dust covered the warrior-class terror's face as it stopped moving briefly. This was a chance for others, so Rhodes, Vulcan, and Caspian began the first counterattack. Rhodes first tried to disable the legs of the frozen terror. Numerous vines, roots, and much more plant life escaped the ground to cover its legs and root it on the land it was standing on.

"One firepower." Vulcan calmly uttered as Caspian nodded in agreement. They immediately gathered all they had and wanted to throw their best attacks toward the muscle behind one of the knees of the monster's legs that resided in the front. Caspian then materialized a giant light spear while Vulcan created a massive magma rock.

Caspian's light spear shone over all as it gleamed through the entirety of the vast plains, overshadowing everyone and everything. Vulcan's magma rock was thrown alongside the spear of light, and upon their impact towards the back of the giant monster's legs, a loud earth-shaking explosion sounded from it.

*BOOM!!!*

With that, a cloud of dust was formed and shrouded everything. The muscles behind the monster's giant legs were blown out, resulting in the warrior-class terror falling forward. Rhodes didn't waste a moment and immediately covered the terror with vines and roots.

Dust dissipated after a short while as silence enveloped the entirety of the vast plains. The supports began to cheer as the strikers, and the assaults had defeated the warrior-class terror. Or so they had thought. With the dissipating dust, the face of the kaos jotunn revealed itself.

And it wasn't, in any way, injured. It was simply angry that it fell on the ground, and with it being angry, the specialty of a warrior-class terror revealed itself. Nerve-like magma lines formed throughout the kaos jotunn's body as the vines and roots suppressing it burned into ashes.

A heat wave got formed throughout the area around the warrior-class terror's body. A couple of seconds later, the vines and roots imprisoning it to the ground got utterly burned off. The kaos jotunn slowly stood back up as the wound behind its knees steadily healed.

*GRAEEEHHH!!!*

It roared with all its might as everyone and everything around it got pushed back. Some trees even got uprooted while some candidates went flying. Yukina's ice soldiers tumbled down as she ordered them to treat while Caspian and Vulcan were enveloped in sweat and found themselves exhausted.

The orange and red crimson hues of the kaos jotunn's magma lines shimmered, and the warrior-class terror became even more formidable. At this moment, the candidates realized that the bastard went through its second health like some game boss.

Pandora, seeing this change, furrowed her eyebrows and ordered a retreat.

"Tell them to retreat from battle and regroup."
