"I'll try. But Lu Jin, don't have too much hope. My father is a Commander in and out. His words and his decisions never change. If he promised his friend to accept his daughter as a daughter-in-law, then there's no way he'd change his mind."
"It's fine, Tian Tian. I want to at least try convincing him to accept us. It's better than the family falling apart." She nodded tearfully.
"Okay. I'll try to convince him. If he doesn't accept, we'll get married in court, okay? Now, stop crying."
"Hmm! Tian Tian, I trust you. It's a little late and I'm a bit tired. If that's all you wanted to say, then can we leave now?"
"If you're tired, then we'll leave. Come, I'll drop you home." Pushing out of his seat, Long Tian pulled Lu Jin to her feet and handed her her purse.
"Thank you, Tian Tian."
"Hmm! Let's go."
Walking side by side, the two exited the Disco Club and entered the Open-Air Parking Lot.

Right at this moment Long Tian's CellCom ringed and seeing it was a business call, he connected it with his AirCom and placed it on mute.
"Lu Jin, give me a minute. I have to take this call." The call concerned TianYue's new sale launch, so Long Tian couldn't ignore it. Stepping to the other side of the lot, he connected the call.
"Hello, Mr. Wyne..."
On the other side, the moment Long Tian left, Gu Yan got out of his car and approached Lu Jin.
"What happened? Why are you guys out so quickly?" He was worried that they had argued.
"Gu Yan! Why are you here? What if Long Tian sees you?" Lu Jin panickily looked around and held Gu Yan's arm, leading him away from the Open-Air Parking Lot.
"He won't see. I only came out after seeing him leave. Now answer me. Why are you guys out so quickly?"
"Sigh...he wanted to tell me his father fixed his marriage with his friend's daughter."
"What!? How can that be? Wouldn't all our hard work be for nothing, then?" Gu Yan shrieked in disbelief. How could Long Tian marry someone else? His eyes erratically rolled about as he held his head and paced around anxiously.
His plan of 3 years...was going to be reduced to nothing!
All his plans and schemes would scatter apart like a dock of cards!
How could he allow that to happen?
He turned and roughly grabbed Lu Jin's arms.
"What did you do? Why is he telling you about his marriage to another woman? Shouldn't he be taking you home instead?"
"Gu Yan, you're hurting me. I didn't do anything. It's his old man that made the decision. But don't worry. Long Tian already promised me that he'd only marry me. If his father fails to accept it, he'll leave the Long Mansion."
"Really?"
"Of course! Do I have a reason to lie? Now let me go."
"Haha...Babe, you're awesome! You have that foolish Long Tian wrapped around your finger! Haha..." Laughing uproariously, Gu Yan picked up Lu Jin and span her around.
Lu Jin yelped in surprise and held his shoulders.
Then a proud smile surfaced on her face.
Even she felt she was awesome. Otherwise, how could she make the son of the Great Commander so devoted to her, that he would willing to leave his family behind?
Smiling complacently, Lu Jin raised her head higher.
"Of course. Someone like Long Tian is the easiest to control. I just need to shed a few tears and act innocent. Then, he'll come running to me like a dog...Hahaha!"
"Da** right! My babe can control even the Great Commander's son. What can you not accomplish? Come, I'll reward you for all the hard work." Setting her down, he wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her.
"Lu Jin...?" Long Tian was stunned by what he saw and heard...
Hearing the familiar voice, Lu Jin froze as if turned to statue.
No...this can't happen...
Not right now!
Shivering as if she was standing in the middle of an ice storm, Lu Jin shakily turned her head and stared wide-eyed at the man standing less than six feet from them.
"Tian...Tian?" She stammered.
"Heh...you were playing with me all this time?" Long Tian's voice was impassive, without a hint of anger or rage to be found.
But it was this calm voice that scared Lu Jin. Because she knew the quieter Long Tian appeared, the angrier he was. And the angrier he was, the more explosive his temper would be.
Horrified at being caught in the act, Lu Jin couldn't respond for a long time. When she returned to her senses, she panickily disengaged herself from Gu Yan's arms and fearfully, took tentative steps towards the dark-faced Long Tian.
But what was done was done, and Lu Jin couldn't reverse time to fix her mistake. So she could only grit her teeth and makeup excuses on the spot.
Either way, she had to vehemently deny everything to the end!
"Tian Tian, listen to me. It's not what you think."
"It's not what I think? Then you tell me Lu Jin. What I just saw and heard right now...what was it? A figment of my imagination?"

The Lu Jin he met when he was only a little over 18 and mistrusted women was a fake?
The one who gave a handicapped kid medical aid in a hovership crash.
The one who made him believe in the existence of sincerity in a world cloaked in deceit and publicly proposed to him and vowed to never love anyone else?
She was fake?
The one he believed to be different from the girls that slept around and had ambiguous relationships with multiple individuals.
They were all fake!
