CHAPTER 3 THE JUT FOREST

Kor and Gor spent the next two days training and preparing for their test and it could not be more obvious that Gor was way less exited than his twin. He had even thought of running away to avoid taking the test. But he didn't want to leave Kor and to be honest he was scared of what his Father would do to him if he found out.

On the day of the test they were flown to Logas province where the Jut forest was located on a garandular a creature with huge body and wings. The saddle placed on it was big enough to fit five fully grown adults not counting the peddler.

When they arrived at Lagos a province with the most mineral resources in all of Omi. The view from the top garandular was as breath taking as usual it was filled with huge mansions and well-organized streets and like every other city that has ever existed, its trenches were smelly and an eyesore. This made the kids almost puke at the view of some of it they saw. After traveling for almost two hours, they finally arrived at their destination.

outside the Jut Forrest was a small building that acted as a gate pass and a station for all who wished to venture into the forest it was quite huge and had very good facilities, like viewing crystals that allows adventurers to view the different beast currently available in the forest their levels and locations, A huge holographic map of the forest with danger signs indicating where not to go no matter what and other equipment's it even had a place to shop for different level of weapons, gadgets and beast companions. It also had a request board for those that are not part of any guild or the military.

"Let's go" Bale's voice made the Twins snap out of their reverie. The kids followed their father from behind with Alex staying behind to sort the garandular they needed to fill some forms and have the creature marked so as not to have any mix up with the others.

The Kids and Bale arrived at what seemed to be a huge reception hall where different people were sorting one issue or the other out. After a while they approach one of the receptionists and asked if the stations chief was in his office as Bale being a VIP had already had everything sorted out. He just needed to see the chief and put the twins in his care as a formality that he brought them himself and would not ask the chief to take responsibility for whatever happens to the kids.

The reception after a while guided them into the chief's office. The chief's office was quite spacious and well furnished with nice cushions and even light and ventilation crystal. Seems business is really booming for them.

The chief was a white-haired man in his early 40s he had a pot belly and wore glasses he had a nice robe on and looked quite dignified. Upon seeing his guests, he stood up from his chair and to greet them.

"Lord Kindel" he said with a voice that didn't match his appearance

"It's a pleasure to meet you again" he bowed lightly

"Chief Guy the pleasure is mine" Bale replied with a calm tone.

"Please sit down. Ella please get our gpuest some tea and snacks for the little ones". "How do you..."

"Don't worry chief I won't be staying long". Bale cut the chief off, "I'm only here to see to it that they get what they need to venture into the forest without delay and as per agreement that they would only be allowed into the forest if their parents come along".

"Ok my Lord" The chief signaled for Ella the receptionist to go after which he took his sit and his guests did the same.

"Concerning the test, I hope you also considered what I told u before now Lord Kindel" the chief said while taking a peek at the Children beside Bale.

"It has already been decided Chief, they are to go to the west side of the forest and retrieve the 'aktel', the lost weapon of General Loid".

The weapon was said to be lost when a general fighting some rebels that had fled to the forest was killed alongside his men by the ferocious beast that lurked in the territory.

The reason why the weapon had not been retrieved was because of the characteristics of a species of beasts that reside in the area the Helpets. Wild beast attracted the blood. A single drop of blood of any creature human or beast was enough to send the Helpets into a frenzy that's why the west side of the forest was off limits.

The Chief had tried his best and he wouldn't want to get on the bad side of Someone like Bale Kindel so he just dropped it and gave the little ones the map and everything they needed. After a while they were both escorted to the path that lead to where they were going to. The Jut forest was a very huge forest of at least 10000 acres of land one could easily smell the stench of death mixed with nature in the air.

After traveling for an hour they got to canyon the escorts a man and woman told them they couldn't follow them further as they had already gotten close to the range of the Helpets nose if anything were to happen and blood was shed they feared they won't be safe especially not with two nine year old with them. After thanking the two escorts for their help so far, the young lads started their journey to the Jut forest.

"Hey Kor, do you think we'll be alright"? Gor said after a while of silence

"Of course, Gor. I'll protect you no matter what" he replied white patting his brother's hair.

Did you hear what the Chief said about the Helpets being attracted to blood? how do manage against that?" Gor said while looking at his overly optimistic brother.

"Don't worry it's not a fighting mission, so running at the sight of danger is a great option for us and with our speed I bet we can out run any beast we see". Gor smile at what his brother said though they were both young he was always amazed at how smart and calculating his twin was, Kor had convinced him to focus on speed training rather than fighting since when their father had told them about the test. Kor had come up with the running as fast as their legs could take them and even the equipment, they got allowed them with speedy movement that actual fighting skills, all accept their swords of course.
