Literature class had always been a time of dread for the students of Blue Nova mainly because the former literature teacher was a massive pain to both teachers and students, his classes were the epitome of boring, his attitude was the definition of horrible, his conscience was none existent, and his sense of humor would give the devil a heart attack, at least this was how students and teachers described the 50-year-old man.
However today's literature class was different from the others, the students listened attentively to what was thought by their new teacher Akira Xanderton, although it was quite obvious they weren't paying attention to her intriguing explanation of Shakespeare's book Macabre.
"she's so pretty"
"Maybe she's some kind of model"
"model? No way she's a goddess"
"you think I have a chance if I ask her out?"
"dude she's like 25 you ain't got even a small chance"
"she gives me the shivers"
"she gives me the creeps"
"huh? Laiten you can't be serious" says Killian turning to his friend who only stared at the teacher with a nervous expression
"as serious as ever, I mean don't you think she's a little bit weird? I mean look at her, pale skin vampire makeup that super long black dress? who looks like that on a normal day" Laiten says turning to his confused friend
"she's just a really pretty lady what's wrong with that?" Killian asks in a questioning tone
"...well, I think there's something else to this weird lady"
"Mr. Esperon would you both like to shed light on your little conversation?" asks Mrs. Akira earning them stares from the rest of their classmates
"n-no ma'am we were just..um trying to understand in depth the story of macabre," says Killian
"Macabre isn't a person," she says deapan causing the students to snicker and giggle and Kilian to lower his head in embarrassment.
Laiten gives him an apologetic look refocusing on the class.
"master what is the matter" Laiten jumps and screams in shock at the sudden sound of Drakens' voice.
"Laiten this is the last time you interrupt my lesson do you understand?" says Akira sternly as Laiten's sudden reaction alerted the rest of the class who couldn't hear nor see Draken.
"yes ma'am sorry ma'am," he says quickly although still in a state of shock.
The class continues as Laiten tries to gather his thoughts
"master?" Laiten pauses
'oh right, Draken, he's still here, my heart almost came out my ass, but I can't talk out loud or the creepy lady is gonna send me to the principal's office, or worse to a psychiatric hospital, I know, I'll write instead' he takes out his journal angling it in a way that Draken could read
"what do you want are you trying to end me?" he writes while simultaneously trying to pretend he was paying attention to the class and not attracting the attention of the teacher.
"My apologies master, you seemed troubled I wanted to know if something was the matter," asks Draken but Laiten couldn't sense any sense of actual concern.
"Well, it's this new teacher, she gives me the creeps, she doesn't seem normal to me, she seems a little fake in my opinion if you know what I mean"
"Oh I know exactly what you mean, Mr. Esperon" his heart stopped at the sound of her voice, it was even scarier than Draken's surprise appearance, shakily he turned to see her glaring down at him with the most menacing aura, even scarier than that of his Killians mother whenever they'd get into trouble.
"m-m-m-m"
"What, are you calling for your mommy now?" says Mrs. Akira with a stern tone earning chuckles from the students even Killian couldn't help but chuckle.
Mrs. Akira takes the book from the frozen and embarrassed Laiten proceeding to read the content out loud.
"Good to know I've made such an interesting first impression Esperon," she says glaring down at the embarrassed boy.
"i-it's not like that, I didn't, I didn't..."
"come to my office after school, boy," she says going back to the front of the class with the book.
"bad move dude" Killian whispers to him just as the bell goes for the next class
"can it" Laiten mumbles packing his stuff and walking out of the class with Killian chasing after him.
"hey, Esperon" Laiten paused at the sound of his last name although he could tell it wasn't the lady and Kilian never uses his last name, actually this person sounded more like a female, he quietly turned around his eyes widening when he sees every girl in his literature class glaring at him.
"uh h-hi can I help you guys?" he asks trying to not make it obvious that he was a little caught off guard.
"you're the runt that called Mrs. Akira weird right" asks the supposed leader of this group with a menacing tone
"e-eh? well, I mean it's it's not an insult or anything" he says trying to cover up the situation but without giving him time to explain himself, the girl who asks the question grabs him by his school uniform.
"try that again and we'll send your head back home"
'that's an empty threat but the way she's saying it is scary' With this thought he simply nods to not further anger the Mrs. Akira fan girls, she lets him go and walks off along with the other girls. Meanwhile, Killian who had been watching from the sidelines came up to him laughing.
"huh? you were watching the entire time and didn't try to help me?!" Laiten asks glaring at Killian
"Sorry man, it was just too funny," says Killian laughing to the extent he almost falls over.
"gee thanks for sticking by me, friend" Laiten says walking to their next class with Killian behind him.
Throughout the day Laiten couldn't help but notice all the glares he got from the literature students in his class, male and female alike.
At the end of the day, he heads to Mrs. Akira's office muttering to himself.
"Today sucks big time"
