Chapter 40 – Monster was born.

(It worked…. I have unlocked new evolution paths!)

(The gem thing he gave me had difference appearance and it wasn't as small as those pebbles the other monsters gave me!)

(What happens to the dungeon if I kill the dungeon master?)

(Will the dungeon just… I don't know… Disappears?)

(But… I don't see any changes. So maybe it doesn't disappear or it just takes time?)

(Still… Should I evolve inside this thing?)

(What if there are still some monsters inside?)

(Honestly, both of my front paws…. Yea… They are no go.)

(Tail is also no go as well as my entire head. I literally stuffed that gem thing into my throat.)

(Honestly, I would have never used that stupid and reckless plan in the first place, if I didn't know that I can survive without part of my head.)

(But well. It worked, but now I'm lot of pain and I want to call my mommy and my entire head is messed up.)

(Honestly, I'm wondering how my remaining eye is still intact after all this bullshit I did.)

(Beside my tail, head, arms being totally busted, there is also my torso. That bastard dis some last ditch efforts and it ended up ripping good part of my body apart.)

(Honestly…. If somebody just a throws a rock at me. I'm dead.)

(And if I move too much right now, I will just fall apart and die as well.)

(I can probably take few steps at best before dying.)

(But. It maybe a good idea to use some of my remaining steps to at least move further in.)

(I didn't saw any monsters respawning while I was going back and forth, so maybe it takes time for the monsters to be born?)

(But still, it's better if I don't risk it and head bit deeper.)

(It wouldn't surprise me if some weaker monsters spawn, but it should take more time for the dungeon boss to spawn, right?)

(Either way, I need to hurry.)

I… Nope. I was not walking. I was crawling around and using my hindlegs to push myself around.

I tried going as further as possible, but before long, my legs also gave up and I had to finally gave up.

(Fuck. I didn't even realized that the legs were busted as well. It must have been doing of that last attacks done by the ice monster.)

(I was in so much pain that I didn't even noticed that I they were also badly damaged.)

(Well… I guess its time for me to evolve.)

(Big deer and big wolf is a straight up just plain upgrade of the plant great deer and plant great wolf. Not very interesting.)

(Demi-werewolf and demi-wendigo is a special evolution I unlocked after eating humanoid creatures.)

(Both of these option seem to be far better than the big deer and big wolf.)

(Alure seed.)

(Its an evolution of the seducer monster who also possess extremely high master over plant magic and other stuff.)

(Honestly, I'm thinking of picking that path as one of my evolution paths. Since a humanoid appearance with an ability to seduce will be a good tool of getting information.)

(But…. Em…. I never dated in my life or had any sex…. I was virgin….)

(Can I…. Do any seductions in the first place?)

(…Well, at least I would get way better at magic.)

(Plant child person. A humanoid plant monster…. And that is all…. Pretty…. Not good. Its as good as big deer or big wolf. But I think its far worse, since you would end up losing mobility. So, yea. I'm definitely not picking it.)

(Winter flower animal. It's a monster type monster that possess a power of both nature and ice. A hybrid.)

(Beast of the winter garden. Similar to the winter flower beast, but more focused on physical combat.)

(Hey this one is interesting?)

(Winter forest mage. A humanoid type monster that excelled in both plant and ice magic?)

(Huh. It says humanoid monster, but its humanoid shape thing like those ice dolls things? Or does it look like human?)

(It would be good if I could take a peek or something…)

(There are also 2 variants.)

(Ice and forest.)

(Ice is obviously from eating these ice monsters' gems. Before it was freezing. Did it got upgraded or something?)

(There is also forest variant. Maybe I unlocked it because I was leveling up and getting a lot of different plant related skills?)

(I will pick both of them anyway, since I want effect form both of them and I don't know what happens if I pick same variant twice.)

(So here is the real question. What do I want to evolve into?)

(Honestly. I'm thinking between the alure seed and the winter forest mage.)

(Should I go with both of them?)

(As much as I want to focus on magic, in my current state I need physical power as well and endurance.)

(Screw this. Let's go with mage.)

(I do wanted the alure, but I need power and the mage may provide me with more power.)

(I don't know how "Human" appearance I will have and will I be able to gather information from humans, but I need to do it.)

(Beside. I don't even know if I would get a skill that would allow me for the communication or something. So, yea… Power.)

"Hold!" – said an elf with a beard.

A group of 10 elves had arrived to the open space area, where the dungeon entrance was located.

"…"

"The giant elks are missing, but the carts are still here?" – said the bearded elf.

"Capitan! Look!" – said an elf that picked up something from ground.

"What is it?"

"It's a sword! And this design, its no mistaking it. It belong our people."

"And it's covered in blood."

"…Red or dark?" – asked elf with the beard.

"Red. Its not the blood of the pigman."

"Its elven blood." – said the elf capitan.

(What the hell happened here?) – though the elf capitan.

(Everybody from the Edu squad were annihilated? Or were they kidnapped by the pigmans?)

(No. They left the weapons and carts? The pigmans would have definitely took them.)

(Then it was the doing of the monsters from dungeon?)

(No.)

(The monsters that we found were the elemental monsters and they do not need food in order to survive. There would have no reason to eat their corpse.)

(Then did they used them as sacrificed to feed the dungeon?)

(…)

(No. The blood is all dried up, but I can tell it was splatted everywhere.)

(But still, something doesn't add up.)

"Ugh?!"

"What is it?"

"W-well. The food we given to the expedition squad is all rotten!" – said an elf.

"…"

The bearded elf walked towards the caravan that was being inspected by other elves.

"…Yeb. No wonder. The food we gave them was only meant for 3 days, so it's- "

"?"

"Wait. Where the aaplemelons?"

"?"

"Excuse me?"

"Some of the food is missing."

"Did pigmans came to- "

"?!"

"Wait! It doesn't make sense! If pigmans had came to steal the food, then why they didn't take all of it and instead let it rot?!"

"Not only that, if the dungeon monster really escaped the dungeon, then why we haven't seen a single ice elemental yet?!"

(Something is wrong! This is not a doing of the dungeon or pigmans!)

"?!"

"Wait! Where is Marcus?!" – said the elf capitan.

"Em… He went near the dungeon to- "

"Tch!"

The elf capitan quickly run towards the dungeon entrance and moments later, he was dragged into the dungeon.

"?!"

"Capitan?!" – said the elf that saw the elf capitan getting dragged into dungeon.

Moment later, the head of the elf capitan ended up being tossed out of the dungeon.

"…Eh…?"

"C-capitan?!" – said the elf after realized that the head under her feets was that of the elven capitan.

"Wait! Something is coming out of the dungeon!"

"What is this?!"

"Stay- "

Elf was cut in half.

"?!"

"ROBERT?!"

Elf has his head smashed.

"NO! GET WAY FROM- "

Elf got his head ripped off.

One by one elves were getting killed in instance by the unknown monster that had walked out of the dungeon.

"…"

"W-what the hell is going on?!"

(It's killing us all!)

(The capitan got dragged into the dungeon and then instantly killed?!)

(There is no way we can win!)

"!?"

When the elf tried running away, he ended up falling flat on the ground. When he looked, he realized some roots were wrapped around his ankle.

(Shit!)

The elf swinged with his sword and cut the roots, but as soon he tried to get up, he noticed that the weird shadow was covering his entire body.

The man looked slowly in fear and saw the unknown monster right next to him.

"…"

(I-it killed everybody already?!)

"N-no! Get away!"

"…"

"N."

"N-No. gEtAwaY?"

"?!"

(It can talk?!)

The monster grabbed the elf by his head and lifted him up.

The muffed scream of the elf were then fallowed sound of crunching and munching that was ended up the pair of legs being dropped on the floor.

"…"

After consuming elf, the unknown monster howled like a beast into the sky.

This day, the monster was born.
