That small source of mana I saw isn't too far away, plus I want to find out how much mana [teleport] consumes, so this is a great opportunity to test it out.
My mana is full right now, and..
Mana: 12030/12130
I teleported in the direction of the source, but not too close so that I could do some more testing.
"Is that even fair?" I was amazed to see that it only consumed 100 mana, and that number is very round, so I wonder if..
Mana: 11933/12130
Yep, it consumed 100 mana again. Three mana was also regenerated in this short space of time, so clearly [Passive regen] is doing it's work.
I don't have any abilities to hide my presense, so I'll just appear right next to that thing and strike first, before the enemy has any time to react.
The moment I appeared before the object, I attempted to cut it but I somehow missed.
I TP'd twenty meters back, and then it became apparent why I missed the target. It was just shorter than I expected. And bouncier.
(*I'm gonna call teleport TP because it's annoying to have to write and read it every time*)
"Hah, hey little guy. I just killed your big brother, you know?" I was referring to the mimic.
"You know, since you're the first slime I've ever met, I'm gonna let you live." It was quite hard to resist the cuteness of this guy, so I came closer and gave him a pat.
"Just one thing you should know. I'll tell you as a thanks for not attempting to attack me. Don't become like your older relative, the mimic, or I will come back to kill you. Okay?" The slime, for reasons unkown to me, understood human language, so after finishing the sentence I picked him up.
"Well, it was nice seeing ya. Off you go!" I said and lauched him as far off into the distance as I could, using all of my 150 strength points to their limit.
He flew far. Several hundred meters, at least. I still haven't used my 667 stat points yet because I wanna sit down and thoroughly think through what I need to invest into.
After a bit of thought, I decided to try and scan the area the same way I did it the last time - by flying up into the air and looking for sources of mana, and the results were pleasing. I found a few creatures, who were surely larger than the slime, but their mana still didn't look like much, so I went ahead TP'd around 10 meters away from the buch, so that I could slowy apprach them without scaring them off.
"Yo." I casually said and raised my hand. They looked a lot like humans, so maybe they could also understand the basic gestures and language, just like the slime.
"Waaah!!" It was a group of 7 people, and the person who was the closest to me - a girl who was wearing a cloak and a magician's hat - cried in surprise. Three people from the group got their pikes out at the same time, and three people loaded their bows.
They had some good teamwork, as far as I could tell.
"You guys seem to be pretty experienced, huh? So that girl is new to your group then?" I said, ignoring their unwelcoming appearance.
"Who are you and what do you want?" One of the pike-wielders made a step forward, still in his battle stance, to ask me.
"*yawn* I'm so bored of hearing eveyone give me the same question every time.. I don't want to tell you who I am. Is that fine with you, Mr party leader?" I shrugged and started walking away. They don't have anything interesting to tell me so I don't want to have anything to do with them.
"Shoot!" The same person who was talking to me just shouted the command, and rightafter that three arrows flew at me.
One manipulator was all it took to split all three arrows in half, and then it came right back to me.
"You bastards, how did you miss all three?! Beatrix, Fire!" On his command, the fire mage hesitantly shot a fireball at me, but I just let it hit me directly. Such a weak spell won't do any damage to me anyways, so there's not much point in evading it.
"Argh, why is my team so bloody incompetent?! Fine, I'll do it myself!" Still shouting, the man charged at me with his pike.
The pike was cut in half before he even had a chance to react, and he just ended up swinging at me with a short stick.
"Wh-What?! My weapon's worn out.. Yes, that must be it. Kocks, give me your pike right now." The commander still couldn't believe what he saw, so he charged at me again.
I dashed towards him - using my one leg - and grabbed his pike by the sharp tip.
"I gave you three chances. Three. And you still decided to attack me. Because of how incompetent you are as their commander, you whole team will have to play for what you've done." I said in an irritated voice and crushed his pike with my fist.
A slingle slash, and his head was one the ground.
"Anyone else wants a go?" I said and chuched their leader's head towards the team.
"Y-You bitch! He just attacked you as self defence. How dare you take someone's like like th--" Some bastard, probably a close friend of their retarded captain, sparted spweing crap at me so I decided to put him out of his misery.
"What kind of magic was that?!" The third pike-weilder, asked.
"PFF.. hahaha!! Magic? Wha do you mean? I just walked towards him." This guy gave me a good laugh too. I wasn't even that fast, since I moved with one leg. I figured that teleport wasn't even necessary againsts these.
"What kind of stats do you have to have.. to move like that." He fell to his knees and held his head with both hands, and the started to shake in confusion and fear.
"Oh, so you want to know my status? Okie-dokie, [show level]." As I said that, my level appeared above my head.
"Ah. ha. Ha. HA. haaa." The man finally lost his mind after seeing the number, and started bashing his head on the ground, so I gave him a strong slap on the head.
The head splattered to pieces.
"And, one more down. Does anyone have anymore obligations?" I turned to face his group and asked the question with a sweet smile. Oh, whoopsie. Looks like I scared them a little. Well, I'll try to calm them down peacefully.
Yeah, okay, Mr edgelord River. Sure, I believe that you will have a peaceful conversation with them.
Enough about that, what I would like to know more is - did you enjoy the chapter? I hope so.
