there are so many bad decisions here

Hatake Kakashi, 44 years old Jounin, ex Hokage, an all around prodigy and owner of too many titles to count, fall asleep with eight lumps of fur sticked to him, his favorite book on his chest ,his mask hanging loosely at his neck and the string sound of rain and thunder outside.

He wake up dizzy from the smell of blood,so strong like he was bathed in it. The subtle smell of ozone and lime. A thunderstorm raging outside. And himself trembling all over from cold or shock Kakashi doesn't know.

He remained unmoved in the pool of blood his body still looking perfectly asleep while his mind was running in circles.

Tou-san? Dad? It's his blood. His smell. His hair texture. His chakra. It's all Dad's.

Kakashi opens his eyes and his eyes are filled with tears without even realizing, he stops breathing, jumps back leaving behind sticky, bloody footsteps and throws up on the side, passing out immediately. His head fall turned towards his Dad, his scent imprinted in his nose once more and his relaxed (deadagainhowsealsNarutoPakkunTousan) face.

When Kakashi wake up the storm was still ongoing but there was no thunder or lightning to be seen or heard. His father dead body was still on the floor, the family tanto sticking in his stomach, his blood seeping in the tatami. Kakashi remembers that those piece of tatami were burn, the blood didn't clean off them.

Calming his breath he begin thinking. In wasn't a jutsu of any type nor was there sign of seals or chakra signature. The only smell was his father blood, ozone and the gentle lime fragrance from his father body. .. his death father. Who reconciled when Pain attacked, who mourned years for him, who tried to replace with Minato-sensei and when it didn't work he just mourned again, who loved, hated, raged and stopped feeling for.

Because even at 44 Kakashi didn't truly understand why his father left him in exchange of his village. Or didn't want to understand.

Kakashi approached his father body slowly and at the same speed took his Sabre put of his stomach. The sound making him choke.

He put the short sword at his place and after scrubbing his fingers raw, cleaning most of the blood, Kakashi climbed in his too small body on his father chest, his nose stuck at Sakumo collarbone inhaling the barely there lime scent. Making himself a small ball he fall asleep there.

Maybe this was just an elaborate dream, like the ones when he was still in Anbu or after the war or like the ones when he though he was just o corpse walking on earth. He will wake up in his bed, his apartment full of trinkets and small gifts, walk with his pack around the village, visit Guy and his little, not so little, students and forget all about this awful, awful dream.
