Wifey

Looking at the peacefully sleeping Jade in his bed, convinced Derek further that he wants it this way, to be able to sleep beside her and to wake up beside every day.

After he bathe and changed into this PJs, he dived under sheets and placed himself besides her. Jade who was sleeping sensed the familiar body scent and warmth, quickly turned to face him with her arms outstretched and moving about trying to get closer to her target. He quickly scooted over to take her in his arms, once her face touched the chest she has come to like very much, she quietened and went back into deep sleep.

Derek could not help but let out a low chuckle and caress her head lovingly. "I don't know how I survived previously without you but now that you are here next to me, the world is no longer a horrible place be in." he whispered and gave her kiss on her head and he went into a deep slumber.

Jade was awoken by whimpering sounds, shaking motions and something wet on her face and hair. Derek was having another nightmare. He was screaming, "Mother, I am sorry, I really won't be naughty again. I promised so don't.. don't.. don't go. Mother! mother! mother! don't leave me!"

"Derek, Derek, it's me, Jade. Come back to me. Come. Come to me if you can hear my voice." Jade whispered into Derek's ear. Derek who was dreaming, in his dream, a blinding light appeared and a person's silhouette can be seen. She was calling out gently to him, in a daze he walked and walked until he reached the source of voice, he still cannot make out her identity, the voice was coaxing him to go nearer and open his eyes. Finally, he arrived in front of the person calling him, he was very afraid to open his eyes, he fears he will see a bloody scene, his mother's blood. He instinctively shut his eyes even tighter.

He felt a hand caressing both of his cheek, it felt warm, not cold at all, then it started to rain, but it was still warm, then he could hear Jade's clear voice, "Derek, come to me, open your eyes, I am here. Open your eyes please. I'm here. Really!" Derek's eyes flew opened and he stared into the wet and teary blue eyes filled with concerns and love. Her face was so close to his that he could feel her warm breath on his face. Her hands were cupping both of his cheeks. His chaotic breathing slowly calmed down but his gaze left her eyes to her luscious lips, his breathing started to hitched again, in a trance, his arms pulled her even closer and he kissed her like the world was coming to an end. It was filled with urgency, passion and love. His kiss caught Jade by surprised but she welcomed the lips that she had been craving so much as well, soft, gentle and warm. Derek could taste the saltiness of her tears during their kiss.

After some time, the kiss ended. Derek wiped away those tears, "Silly girl, why are crying? Your husband here is still very much alive and well." "You gave me a scare. Wait.. did you just call yourself husband?" she knocked him on his forehead. "My wife, we haven't consummate our marriage yet you want to murder your own husband?" "Eh, the nightmare caused you brain damage, ah?" "My wife, you said you will agree to be Mrs Lee if I gave you a ring, aren't you wearing an engagement ring?" He laughed at her perplexed facial expression.

He took her left hand and raised it to her eye level. Her eyes widened further. "When? How?" He smirked at her, and she felt her heart fluttering. "Last night when you were asleep. Father said to give you a ring then we can proceed with the baby making." She smacked him on his chest when she heard his words. She exert more strength than she intended. He playfully showed a pained expression with a sexy pout and clutched his chest. She quickly massage the area she hit and asked in concern, "Sorry, I was still in shock. Is it very painful?" "It will be alright if I get a kiss there." he said pointing to his chest. She planted a light kiss on his chest.

"You were sleeping so peacefully last night and when father passed me the ring that were worn by grandmother and mother, I could not help but slipped it onto your finger. I promise you, I will propose properly soon. Don't feel short changed ya my wifey." She could only nod her head to indicate she trusted him.

He pulled her close to him once again and hugged her tightly. She only propped herself up once he loosened his hold. "How are you feeling?" "Mm. As long as you are next to me, I can bear just about anything." "I don't have to be at the company tomorrow, we can go see the hypnotist tomorrow, if you are up for it"

"Anything my wife says I will follow obediently. Thank you Jade. You mean a lot to me up to a point I don't think I can ever live without you." Jade was so touched that her eyes became teary once more. "Silly girl. Why do you cry so easily?" "I don't know, I first cried when Mama was on her deathbed. Now, it comes naturally when it involves people I care and li... em.. love" her voiced trail off indicating her sudden enlightenment.

Derek's heart burst out in extreme happiness.
