Chapter 31: A Bouquet

Rhiannon's POV

Rhiannon opened her front door and began to take a step out onto the landing. She paused, realizing there was a massive bouquet of beautiful flowers.

There were peonies, black eyed Susans, and even tiny little violets. Peonies were never cheap...

John.

She carried them inside and set them on the table. She plucked a violet, her favorite, from the bouquet and carried it with her as she left for work.

Will was standing behind the bar polishing glasses.

"Where's Lauren?" Rhiannon asked.

"She's out sick," Will answered, not bothering to look up.

"Sure, sick for that d—"

"Easy, killer," Will cut her off, chuckling. "She caught a stomach bug."

"Ugh," Rhiannon gagged. "That's the worst."

"You're telling me. I had one just last week," Will replied.

"Yeah, I'm not surprised. Next time keep your germs to yourself," Rhiannon teased, smiling as she organized bottles on the shelf.
