Futile; Wife;

- Kerren, i dont know how the thing i need looks like, but i know that it is a reward for highest contribution. -- Yusaya revealed to him.

- Wouldn't that make it insanely important and expensive? -- Kerren squinted his eyes, as he thought about it.

- It would, but for you... it will be useless... I can't tell you what it is exaclty but... please, let me have it. I will give you whatever you want for it! -- she pleaded him. Of course, if she really needed to she would kill Kerren to get it...

- Huh, is that so... -- he thought about it some more... What exactly would gain her attention if she could easily give him a unique skill book? -- Well, after i see it i can give you an answer. If it's something that wont be useful to me - sure, but if it is?.. I'm afraid you'll have to fight me for it. -- he revealed his position!

- Fine -- she didn't bother to talk anymore as she started running in some direction!

Kerren couldn't help but wonder about it. If he remembered correctly in his previous life it wasn't discovered until few years into the future, but Yusaya is here and she already knows what the goal is... So what took her so long?

Was she weaker in his previous life? Nope, he didn't have much to do with her strength. Did something significant change? Did she simply fail to kill the dragonfly? What was it exactly?

Of course, as he thought about it he couldn't understand anything, he lacked some crucial parts he needed to deduct whatever was the reason, but...

He was certain about one thing: whatever the thing was - he needs to get it! It would be something insane!

Just as he was thinking about wether or not he should follow Yusaya, a goblin emerged from a bush near to him.

He didn't even bother looking at him, since he knew from a long time ago that it lurked there, waiting to attack.

It only decided to do so after Kerren was alone. To the goblin Kerren looked insanely weak! He didn't have any mana nor did he have any weapons! Why would it not attack him?

Sadly, as soon as that goblin tried to attack Kerren his head sled down his neck. Kerren didn't even move, a simple mana wave could be casted from any part of his body due to its unique properties.

Kerren dind't bother to take its ears as passing the test wasn't his goal at all. He used several spells to engulf the whole dungeon, of course, it wasn't so easy. When he spent more than 30% of his total mana he was finally able to achieve it!

Sadly, he couldn't spot the dragonfly! The reason behind that was unknown to him. After all it was possible that Yusaya lied to him, or she herself didn't know what the secret boss looked like...

Thus, he tried to find any lifeform that looked different from whatever populated this dungeon.

He found many strange bugs, mice or even animated objects like rocks or small plans! Of course, none of those looked special, they were all "normal".

Spending a while doing so, until his mana fell to the bottom, he sat at the ground and took out some mana crystals to "recharge".

It didn't take long as he could literally put them somewhere on his body to absorb them with an insane speed!

Soon, he repeated the process, trying to spot whatever unusual happened in the dungeon. He didn't find anything at all. He, however, could see that the dungeon itself was somewhat strange.

It had borders one could see and feel! Those looked like giant walls! Sadly, Kerren couldn't even check them, as they instantly crushed his spells if he tried to do so.

After a while, he decided to change his tactics. He spent too much crystals and didn't get anything, thus making his previous tactic a complete failure.

This time, he extended his spells in only one direction... Towads Yusaya! He knew that if he followed her he will be able to get some clues.

After some time he finally found her. She did the same thing as he did! She simply used her spells to look around for the secret boss!

That led him to a thought -* It took her several years to succeed -- it was now obvious. Why would she waste so much time here if she could easily find it?

There must be something else to that secret boss that he has to do! Of course, finding out anything about it was easier said than done. The only advantage he had over people before him is that he knew for certain that something was here...

But what exactly? He tried going to those strange plants and rocks he detected with his spell, but those were a normal sight in dungeons. Even if they were special Kerren couldn't understand how.

Several hours later, when today's test ended Kerren met Yusaya once again, immediately asking:

- Did you find what you looked for? Any clues, maybe? -- he asked as if concerned about it. He really was, after all.

- No. It's harder than i thought and... -- she looked at him -- why do you care? -- she couldn't help but ask.

- Why would i not? After all you've promised me whatever i wanted if i helped you, right? -- he then held her hand -- i choose you, be my wife.
