Deciding My Fate

"Huh?" I asked a bit underwhelmed. 'What's with the cheesy names?'

"He dosen't even know who we are." one of the voices said holding back a laugh.

"Good grief." Raziel sighed. " Do you know of Ken's where abouts?"

"Don't Know. And Even if i did, why would I tell you?"

"Why are we trying to get information from this child?" one of the sillouettes asked getting up from his chair.

"He may have important information, just be pat-." Sandra tried to explain.

"Shut it!" the sillouette said as he walked out from the shadows. his growl shook the room and his eyes shun like volcaneos. The scar on his face was the most obvious. "There's a mad man out there killing members and you ask me for patience? from this weed no less."

Raziel looked at the man. "So what do you propose we do to the boy Arl?"

"Put him out from his misery. Let's stop wasting time." Arl said, his eyes locked with mine.

The room fell scilent my body shaken with fear "Thats too excessive!" Sandra exclaimed.

"Well he dosen't know anything so..." one of the shadows in the background said.

"But killing IS a little extra." Another replied.

"Are you sure you know nothing kid?" Raziel asked again.

My breath shakey and the feeling my heart was about to explode. "Y-yes..."

"Good grief." He sighed as smoke ran out his mouth. His gaze met my face, "He might not have any useful information but..." He turned to Sandra "Considering he survived Ken, he could be of different use."

Sandra looked delighted. But Arl, he looked completely shocked. His mouth so open a fly could go down his through "You don't mean-"

"Yes I do, and I want you to train him... Arl."

"WHAT?!" We all exclaimed.

"Train with Arl? You can't be serious." one of the Sillouetes said.

"Why me?!"

"Because, you're both from the same clan." Sandra spoke.

"Exactly..." Raziel replied. "You're the only one who could teach hm anything beneficial."

Arl's irritation was heightened, he clenched his fist in a controlled rage. "What about you?!"

"This right here is pure entertainment haha!"

"Sir, isnt there anyone of umm... better standing? a-anyone else?" Sandra asked her face clearly very concerned. "Or can't we just let him go?"

"Unfortunately, we're down a member and no one else is from the Dragon clan."

One of the silouettes laughed "I can't believe this is happening." He said "Arry's gonna be a teacher Hahaha."

"Shut it already!"

"What an unfortunate turn of events." Another one of the silouettes spoke.

At this point, my face was completely pale. 'I'm totally dead aren't I?'.

....

"Guhhhh" It felt like fire, like being boiled. It felt like a surge of lightening was all over, but, I was still alive none the less. I moaned in pain releasing the hilt once more "Haaa-haaaa." The blade was almost out of the stone.

"This is- No person i have seen has ever come so close like this." The owl explained to me. His excited voice echoed in the cave.

"Haaa- So?"

"S-Sooooo?! This is a once in a life time honor I never thought would be possible!" He said, His beak facing the top of the cieling, his wings completely extended. "You should be honored to be chosen by such a beutiful weapon!!"

"How long have you been here?"

"25 years or so... why do you ask?"

"Never mind." I replied. Realizing I was talking to a complete nutcase, I go back to the blade preparing my hands to pull it again.

"This is mind boggling." The owl said still clearly in his extacy.

"Do you mind?"

"Hmmm? Oh yesss my apologies. Continue."

I took a deep breath, circling my fingers round the hilt once again, I pull. I pull harder than I had ever done previously.

"AHHHHH!!!" That feeling, was like nothing one could ever hope to experience. I felt my flesh rot, my bones vibrate, my blood boil... But it was out. It was finally out of the stupid rock.

The owl looked left and right his body shaking. "OHHHHH MYYYY KINGS!!!" He said frantically. "This is it! It has finally been done!" He screamed as loud as he could.

My irritation had reached it's breaking point. "Shut up!" I said. "Why is this such a big deal to you?"

"If you must know."

"I don't."

"It has been precicely 350 years, 6 months and 2 days exactly since the last person pulled the blade from it's stone."

"Didn't you say you were like 25 years old or something?"

"It has been a religion in our family to watch over, guide and assist the next user of the sword." He explained in a matter of fact.

i lift the blade."No thanks."

"But you were chosen by the blade, and I, chosen by my father before me. We are inseperable."

"Look, I don't need your help." I said as I walked to the exit.

He landed infront of me, blocking my path. "B-B-But You cannot avoid our destiny!"

"I don't even know-"

"My name is Owlbiet... Master" He took a bow. and yes, this was a strange situation.

'Oookay wierd.' I thought.

"Please use me as you desire master."

"N-no eeeww stop with the... THIS!"

"But I must come with you on your journey! WE will slay queens and kings, conquer continen-"

"I told you before, I'm just selling the blade."

His face was in completely shocked, like he got his seeds stolen or something. "What do you mean selling?!"

"I mean giving it to someone for money? y'know, selling?"

"N-No you can't!"

i sighed. "Why not?"

"The blade can only be held by the one who was chosen by it because-"

"Not my problem." I replied. "I came here to make money not a history lesson." I push Owlbiet to the side and completely leave the cave.

"B-But... fine can i atleast join you?"

"Hmm? why?"

"It is my Job to follow the blade. Maybe the person you sell it to can use it."

"I thought only I was able to use it?"

"Do not be a fool... As long as one has a strong mind and soul, they could probably use it. if either is lacking, they will go mad."

'Is that so?' I thought.
