The First Attack

As William waits to see what Annabel will say Ban calmly walks back over to the quad and lies back down in the basket as he doesn't want to stay here any longer. After a few moments Annabel starts to talk "We had just heard on the news this morning that the town was overrun and mum and dad wanted to pack up and leave as soon as possible before the hoard came our way, as we were packing up we realised that the car was quite low on fuel so they decided to head in to town to get quickly refueled before the hoard noticed them, I stayed here to keep packing so that as soon as they came back we could all leave. But when the car got back the inside was full of blood and the back window was smashed, the two zombies then smashed the front windows and fell out the car, I ran inside then you arrived and you know the rest" she quickly explained to him. He nods realising that getting stuff that you can only get from towns like fuel is going to be very difficult. "Its best if we leave as soon as possible as I dont really want it meet any more zombies before we get back to my house so get whatever you need and put it in the basket on the front of the quad" he tells her.

He then walks over to the quad and starts ruffleing Ban's hair "Sorry boy but your going to have to go for a run today, we need the basket for now, if you do I will give you a sausage when we get back" he tells the dog. At first Ban didn't respond but when sausages were mentioned he jumped out of the basket straight away. "Did you just bribe your dog to run all the way home with sausages?!" Annabel asks him coming up behind him with a few bags full of stuff "What else would I bribe him with except for sausages, anyway he needs his exercise as he hasn't done his daily chores of helping out my mum and dad..." he stops talking when he realizes that after today he will never be able to do those chores that he had to do every day with his parents.

Annabeth not realising what happened to his parents ask why he just abruptly stopped talking, and why he hasn't said anything for a few moments. He then tells her about how he went onto town to look for his parents but only found their zombies shambling away with the rest of the hoard and how he came here. When she hears all this, Annabel quickly grabs and hugs him as she knows that while he may not want to admit it to her, having to see that seriously affected him. After taking some deep breaths William gently pushes her away and tells her to get on the quad while putting her bags in the basket and whistling to Ban who gets up and walks closer to the quad, after he secures her stuff William hops onto the quad and starts it, driving it out if the yard back onto the road past the town and towards his home...

When the quad reaches the farm William asks Annabel and Ban to go inside and for Annabel to put her stuff away while he goes back in to town to get some stuff, at first Annabel refuses and doesnt let him go as she knows how many zombies are in the town. But when she sees his face and realizes what he is going to do she begrudgingly let's him go, before he heads out however he heads over to one of the sheds in the yard, where he comes out a few moments later he has a large sledgehammer in one hand. When Annabel sees the hammer her eyes widen as she asks "If your going to try to kill zombies with that thing...will it even work? Even your axe couldn't really do that much to them." William just laughs and using one hand swings it multiple times. Seeing this her eyes widen even more "Using a hammer like this isn't exactly hard as I've used it since I was young to fix fences, and trust me it'll be more than enough to squash a few heads." He casually tells her while walking over to the quad and places the hammer in the basket while going into a different shed and reappearing with 3 small fuel jugs and also placing them into the basket "Might as well get some fuel while I'm there" he tells Annabel before starting the quad and leaving.

At the town thousands of zombies are just aimlessly wandering around because they havent heard anything to attack, when they hear a noise steadily approaching and see a quad appearing in the distance...

When William reaches the town a large crowd of zombies are already waiting for him, but annoyingly his parents aren't in it, seeing that the hoard isn't that big and there are gaps between each zombie, William doesn't stop the quad but instead goes faster and rams straight through the middle of the large group sending them flying in every direction, but barely hurting them. Not even looking back to see how many zombies are following him William keeps looking for his parents and the fuel station.

After a few minutes of raming zombies and searching for the 2 things William turns a corner and sees the gas station, but between him and it, is a large hoard of a few hundred zombies. This time William stops the quad as he knows he wont be able to ram his way through this amount of zombies and picks up the sledge hammer and runs towards a nearby alleyway and slams the hammer down on a sheet of metal alerting all the zombies who run over to him at different speeds. Just before the first zombie reaches him he raises the hammer and slams it down on the zombies head crushing and killing it with one blow, due to the small size of the alley only 1 zombie can reach him at the one time so as soon as a zombies nears him he crushes its skull with the hammer...
