Chapter Thirty-Eight: Asking questions and Beatrix mating with Preston

(Spade's Pov) After we got back, we decided to leave Beatrix with Preston for a little bit. I called Conner to my office. He came and I asked, "How do you know my sister?" He replied, "I dated her when she was a sophomore. She broke up with me about 4 months later saying that I needed to find my mate." I said, "Why the hell didn't you or her say that y'all were dating?" He replied, "She didn't want anyone to find out, because she was worried it would be a bloodbath." I said, "Thanks for telling me this Conner, you may leave now." He left and I headed to Preston's house.

He opened the door and Beatrix was curled up in a fetal position. I said, "Beatrix, the pack doctor is on the way to give you the shot ok." She replied, "Ok, but what's going to happen to me?" I said, "You'll lose any emotions that you once felt towards Trenton. You'll also be able to find your second chance mate if you have one." She nodded and the pack doctor showed up. The doctor said, "Hi Beatrix, I'm Dr. Ren and I'm going to give you a special shot. It'll help you forget about Trenton." Beatrix turned her arm towards Dr. Ren and allowed her to give the shot. Dr. Ren said, "Come down to the clinic if you have any concerns about this or if you aren't feeling good." She left and Preston closed the door behind her. Beatrix got up sniffing the air and Preston ran towards her. He growled saying, "Mine," and Beatrix said, "Mine." I used my Alpha voice saying, "Preston let go off Beatrix for a minute!" He let go off her growling at me. I said to Beatrix, "Is he your second chance mate?" She nodded and I left them alone. I heard distant moaning coming from Beatrix as I was walking farther away. I was happy for her and Preston. When I got home, I crashed on the couch and fell asleep.
