You Breathe the Air I Breathe

Kat stood staring between the two men as they conversed. She didn't think that conversing was the proper term for what they were doing. She could clearly see that the two men had issues with it with one another. However, she still couldn't focus on what the two were saying with the sudden rise of nausea coming up her throat.

When Richard reached his arm around her shoulders, she tried her hardest to hold in the lump in her throat. She felt like she would vomit underneath his touch. Holding it, she clinched her fist tightly together, digging her nails into tell her palm. She tried her hardest to cause herself pain to dull out the touch of that man.

Just when Kat thought she might draw blood, she felt a fragile hand grabbing her fist. Peeking out of the corner of her eye, she saw Lyma, who had been eyeing her. She gave Kat the gentlest touch to reassure her.

"Ms. Katalina, shall we go?"

Kat snapped to and looked at Wolf, who had beckoned for her to follow him. She hadn't realized that Richard's arm was no longer over her shoulder, nor did she hear the conversation that the two men had. When she heard her name, Lyma grabbed her hand to follow behind the CEO.

Kat didn't dare look back at Richard, who she was slowly distancing herself from. She knew the look on his face. She could feel it like knives piercing in her back.

The three waited outside of the elevator until the door dinged open. Once inside, the two women position themselves behind the CEO and it went silent it for quite a while as the elevator descended.

" Well, that's settled, isn't it?" Wolfs voice suddenly filled the elevator. After a few moments of silence, Wolf turn back to look at Kat. Before she had a moment to open her mouth to question what he was talking about, the door to the elevator opened. Several employees stepped into the elevator after greeting the CEO.

He acknowledged them back, but never took his eyes off of her. Kat raised her eyebrows in question. She tried to figure out if this was the proper time to discuss whatever he was asking.

"Did you not hear me?" Wolf now turned his entire body to face her. His back was to the elevator door. Once again, the elevator opened to let more employees in. They greeted him and squeezes into the elevator. It was now lunchtime, she figured, with more and more employees heading out for lunch. The elevator was already packed as it is, but Wolf's tall stature seemed to take up the entire space.

" I'm sorry, Mr. Wolf can you please repeat. What was the question that you had for me?"

" It's settled that you will be staying at my home for the next two weeks. You'll be using the bedroom on the first floor."

Wolf reach into his pocket and stepped closer. Taking out some keys from his pocket, he handed them over to her. The jingling of the keys was more than alarming, since everyone in the elevator now fell silent as they focused on their conversation. She could see several of the women glaring at her, and the men all had their eyebrows raised at them.

" I don't have a spare key on me right now so you can take my set. My car key is attached to it but I won't be there until later tonight. So you can drive the car there and wait for me."

Kat was utterly confused now. She was a tad bit embarrassed at the conversation that was being held with so many people present. She wasn't sure if the young CEO knew what he was saying? Didn't he know or care to understand the gravity of how he was wording his instructions? Wait for me tonight? She was sure that everyone else in the elevator thought that they had more of a personal relationship than what he was implying.

She knew he only meant business, but it still baffled her at how insensitive his instructions came off. He didn't give time for a rebuttal. Not that she wanted to. However, his tone made it seem as though his words were final. There was no room for a rebuttal. This was strictly business.

Or so, she thought that, until she noticed a grin as he turned back around to face the elevator door. He was doing it on purpose! But why? Just his joking alone could put them in serious heat. She wasn't sure how much heat he would be in. Technically he was the CEO and who would dare say anything against him? But her on the other hand.

Kat clutched the keys in her hand and looked around the elevator slightly. She saw not one, but two death stares from the female employees. She wouldn't dare look around the room. She nodded her head in acknowledgement and closed her mouth. This was only the first few hours of her task and she was sure that it would prove more than difficult.

"Katalina?" Wolf called her a tad bit intimately as he waited off the elevator for her. OFF THE ELEVATOR? She scrambled her way behind him as she realized that they had gotten off and she had been stuck in the elevator in a daze.

What's even worse is that she had been staring directly at him the entire time. Oh God. She must have had a fangirl expression. Is that why he was grinning so widely? Was this amusing her? Or was his grin really anger? Like Richard had done so many times before.

She caught up to them and thought it best to speak a few words while they were away from prying ears.

"Mr. Wolf? May I have a word?"

Wolf stopped in his tracks without even a warning, causing her to collide with his rock solid back. She placed her hands up in front of her and her palms felt nothing but hard muscle. She jerked her hand away and stumbled backwards. He reached out to grab her wrist, preventing her from falling backwards.

"Katalina, you really should pay more attention to what you're doing." He said as he helped her steady her balance.

"Mr. Wolf, I think it would be best...umm...if you...errr....don't address me by my first name."

Where did she get this sudden courage from? Stupid! She had learned not to blurt out whatever was on her mind to any superior! Nor should she to the CEO of the company! Richard had made damn sure to correct her when she spoke out of turn.

By the sudden change in expression on his face, she knew that she messed up. His thick eyebrows were scrunched together in disapproval. His jaw was clenched so tight that she could see it flex underneath his skin. His grip on her wrist began to tighten ever so slightly. He pulled her towards him.

This caught her off guard, suddenly jerking her forward to plant her palms on his chest. His heart was beating hard underneath his suit. No doubt from anger, she thought. She dared not look up at him as he leaned his head forward. She started straight ahead, eye level to his chest area.

"Let's get something straight. For the next two weeks you are mine and mine alone. You breathe the air that I breathe. You sleep where I sleep. You do what I do or what I tell you to do. You are to be glued to my side twenty-four hours of the day. At my desk side. At my dinner table. At my bedside. You are no longer your own self. For these next two weeks you are mine."

Wolf said the words so low that she could practically hear them growling from his chest. He reached up to grab her forearm to distance her a step away from him. She held her hands together infront of him but still did not dare to look up at him. Except that he reached his hand out underneath her jaw to make her look up at him. She stared up into those deadly brown eyes. His eyes, she noticed, were staring very intently at her lips.

She bit down on her lip. She heard a group of people exiting the elevators behind them, but they seemed muffled under her loud heart beats. She should pull away, but she was frozen in place under his touch.

"That means I can call you whatever I want, Kat....since you belong to me."
