Chapter 18 How it happened

" Repeat what you just said."

" I had the intention of following Harry after he had gotten out, but before I could actually follow him, dozens of agents attacked the safehouse that you gave us, blocking me for long enough to kidnap Harry."

Fury's face frowned when he heard the words safe house, it was really supposed to be safe, only high-level Shield agents knew about the place and who lived there, so someone leaking the position of the place would implicate that someone had infiltrated Shield.

" The agents that you dealt with, were there any survivors to interrogate?"

" No, I had left one alive with broken legs and arms, but before I could interrogate him he crushed a fake tooth that had cyanide inside of it, I couldn't do anything." She said with a mix of Anger and Sadness.

She had promised him that he would be protected, and in less than a week he got kidnapped because of her.

' I am cursed, I brought misery to whoever I considered a friend or family.' She thought holding back tears not wanting to show weakness at this moment.

" Did they have any type of similarities or something that can give us something that could us to the suppliers?" Nat asked.

" They had nothing, no fingerprints, fake teeth, burned tongue, slashed ears, nothing can lead us to who they were before becoming this."

" This? What do you mean?"

" They had their brain modified, their brain stopped working like a human and began working like a dog, a dog with enough strength to crush walls that don't feel pain or emotions."

" Any idea?"

" If I am right, then it will be quite the surprise."

Fury took his phone from his pocket and dialled a number.

After 5 minutes the other side of finally picked up to reveal quite an old voice.

" Hello?Fury? I am still getting used to these things."

" Albus."

" Do it." A voice from the intercom said.

" Or?" I asked, in front of me is a kid around my age, his body held by rope to a metal chair.

" No Food."

' I have already removed my Malnutrion trait, and if I eat every once in a while, the trait won't ever appear again, so food for me currently is useless.'

I looked towards the mirror who now I knew was a one-way glass and said:" No."

Before I could do anything the blood began coming out of his eyes, mouth and ears, while his body began spamming in pain.

" Remember Mister Potter, you can say no how much you want, but what is doomed to die will always die, it is your choice if his death will be fast or very slow, that simple."

I looked at the eyes of the kid, him doing the same to me, his eyes had tears falling, while muffled screams came out from his covered mouth, he was begging to be killed and end his sufferings.

With a lot of reluctance, I evoked a mana bolt and killed the kid.

It has been 5 days since my kidnapping, I have been put through some of the hardest decisions and situations in my entire life.

I had to kill, not only mindless humans, but old people, normal adults, women, and now a kid.

I haven't gone crazy only thanks to Gamer's mind keeping my mind stable.

' I am not a monster, I had to do what was needed to survive.'

* Then is your life worth more than others* A voice that represented my doubts said in my ear.

I ignored it, not neither anger nor sadness at his remark, knowing he was both right and wrong, my life wasn't worth more than theirs, but neither were theirs worth more than mine.

The door of the room opened letting the man who had spoken through the intercom get inside.

" Good Job Mister Potter, this is one of the hardest tests, but you passed it, I congratulate you."

My ears catch what he had said, but my eyes were looking at something else.

" Mister Potter how many times do we have to tell you to listen when someone sp-"

'Mana Bolt.'

Before he could end his phrase the head of the official exploded under the sheer strength of my level 20 Mana Bolt.

Why was I risking putting myself in a dangerous situation?

Because of this.

I immediately opened the map while rushing outside and checked the area where I could see either green or grey dots, everything would be better than red ones.

And there they were, on the first floor, apparently fighting against my kidnappers.

I continued running, ignoring the burning sensation in my lunges and using my everything to reach them.

Every once in a while some agents tried to block me, but thanks to the tests they had me go through, I was either able to kill them, use Fireball to block their path, or straight up block their legs with Mana Restraining.

'I am escaping, I am actually escaping.'

Using the shortcuts that were highlighted in my minimap I was able to reach the first floor quite easily, the lessened number of agents due to the attack happening on the first floor and the red dots appearing on my minimap, helped quite a lot.

Finally, I reached the first floor through one of the secondary stairs and as soon as I got inside the main room my eyes got flashed at the spells being cast and the thunderous sound of guns shooting.

I adapted pretty quickly and using my sneaking skill I started heading towards the nearest green dot.

It was Hagrid who with quite a big wand was shooting spells that caused explosions and killed a few agents with every hit.

" Hagrid."

The man turned towards me, his eyes filling with happiness which was a 180 turn from his previous angry face, and rushed towards me.

He didn't hug me or something like that, he simply grabbed me by the hips and put me on his shoulder like a potato sack.

" I HAVE HARRY." He shouted.
