I tread into the deepest, darkest secrets of the universe. Amidst the storm I listen to the voice of reason. My path is not held down by anything else but myself. For I am my own body, mind and soul. My will shall penetrate all of doubts and fears I face. All life shall know my own name. ----------------------------&&&&---------------------------- Currently on heavy editing. This is my first book and I am really eager to make my story clean, not perfect but acceptable. So please if you have any inputs, insights or advices you are free to do so. Please forgive my grammar too as english is my third language. My vocabulary is limited and I consider writing this as a learning experience. I do research on my words a lot and will use new ones if necessary. Thank you and have a good time reading. Approximately 1500-1800 words per chapter. Story is slow-paced.(maybe) If you guys want to have a discord chat maybe you could strike me up and say it to my face. (I'm lonely so plz...) Also if you aren't lazy to read the Prologue here it is: In the beginning, loud screams and wails echoed throughout the void, supernatural powers spread out the lands and in turn, evolved the surrounding creatures into monstrosities that devoured and prey on the weak. Humans and other intellectual species hid in the dark, fearing what they may become if they stand face to face with the horrors across the lands. Though the time that passed through the lands made the beings impatient and tried to devise a way to kill the horrors. They made tools, crafted plans and waited. They had succeeded and from the corpse of the first horror they brought down brought blessings to the people making them have the morale and ingredients to make artifacts which was made to kill the monsters. They had brought down many monsters with their breakthrough and made a place for themselves in the surface. Humans were the first civilization to fight the horrors whilst the elves cower in the protection of the tree's leaves and the Dwarves hid deep into the crevices. Though scared they also found a way to fight the monstrosities in their own traditional way. Until one day the age of the supernatural came. Powers came to be and their users brought changed to the lands, exiling the horrors into the Forsaken Lands as they claimed the surfaces for their own. The First Emperor of Humanity brought to light the spark of humans, whilst the First Elven King revitalized the lands. The First Dwarven Enchanter crafted legendary artifacts. Finally bringing the Brilliance and Pale Era. These are the Recorded Legends in Grandia Lands, some legends were left untold as the First Rulers suddenly vanished. However people had already forgotten about it only to be told as storytimes for children but there is a prophecy that they would return, and that is the day the whole lands will end.

Chapter 9: A Solution.

The rest of the day at the academy continued without rest except when it was recess or lunch time. Having to jog in Ms. Katerina's class made me exhausted and listening to Mr. Elisiah made me quite impatient to just skip it or sleep through boring lecture.

All of my classes ended with me being exhausted physically and mentally. Well if I remind myself again what the three buffoons made me ate then you can factor it to my emotional state, making me look like an amalgamation of — a wimp, a retard and a broken-hearted man.

Walking through the hall like an owl, the gazes of the people didn't matter to me, even as they snickered quite obviously. I was nothing more than a shell right now, there is nothing alive in me that makes my inner being process anything.

Retreating back to my room I suddenly felt a bout of queasiness from my throat, suddenly forming a disgusting stench of acid to my nose. I felt my sight become narrow and my body became heavier by the second.

I had an intrusive thought wanting to intentionally just vomit at the floor. I just wanted to get this nausea over with but an intense feeling gripped my heart, an imaginary snake strapped unto my neck constricting the flow of my breath as I tried to call out for help outside but it was only rewarded with breathless cries.

My brain injected itself with chemicals that made my body heavier, my vision drifting away as I fought for my consciousness.

I tried taking deep breaths, avoiding the negative thoughts that came inside my head, however it wasn't enough as more and more struck my mind.

"Am I going to die here?" My breathing quickened as thoughts of hopelessness flooded my mind. Memories started to clutter reminding me that my life here in this world was already hopeless, I couldn't handle a world as cruel as this, without even a plan to get back how to harness supernatural powers how would I continue in the academy? I've already doomed myself by impulsively speaking out to my potential friends making me a loner that was humiliated by a bunch of buffoons and snickered at every turn by the students around. Was I really fated to live in this world? I don't have any important memories from my past life that I could use to my advantage without complicating my life here. From the start, I had nothing that could help me except some minor conveniences. I was just too dumb and positively toxic from the beginning that I lied to myself at every turn. Is this how I'm supposed to die? In a lonely room with no people by my side...?

My body convulsed, my eyes losing their color and my breath slowly wilting.

Everything slowed down in that moment, and a supernatural thing happened in front of me.

I was floating in a space full of supernatural energy...before glimpses Virule's childhood began playing in my head.

There I saw a little Virule in the hands of a woman who had silver hair and an exhausted face.

"You take from your father, a silly man who has a manly face. Though I don't think you would grow like him in the future, because you have my Blood." She caressed Virule's baby face making the baby affectionately hold her hand. The woman smiled at the baby's reaction. She kissed Virule's forehead loudly.

A different scene appeared, we were outside of the mansion. Virule was happily playing with his toys outside, while the woman affectionately stared at Virule.

"Virule! Come her for a second I have something to tell you." Virule with his baby face smiled and came to his mother's side. The woman lifted Virule up to her lap.

"Virule listen carefully okay? I won't be here forever. So I just wanted to tell you that Mommy loves you...I love you very much..." Tears fell from her eyes and when it drop to the ground the scene change again.

A dark place filled to the brim with a whole lot of herbs, powders and potions stacked to the side, books laying scattered around and there I saw Virule inside a circle that had a unique design engraved on the ground.

"Virule, don't move from that spot. I'm just helping you, I'm just trying to be here for you. I just want to be with you. So don't move okay?"

"With the required ingredients being fulfilled, I can now attempt the soul binding spell, though I am unsure if this is true but this is my only way of being with my Virule..." The woman looked with a wide and creepy grin at Virule however it soon turned into a affectionate smile.

"I will succeed this no matter what!" The woman chanted a language familiar to me, it was a language that I knew of.

"Let this be an offering to the great gods; herbs of vitality, blood of a strong monster, a woman's flesh and blood, and half of my soul in exchange for a communion of my soul on a young child's body." After she finished chanting, a weird phenomena happened, the woman floated, her body twisting as if there was a black hole inside of her body, she wailed in pain as it consumed her body, before finally reduced to no more but a transparent silhouette.

The silhouette quickly moved to Virule, molding itself gently making the baby closed his eyes before falling down softly on the floor. A second later a man arrived at the scene, it was Virule's father. He scanned the place and found Virule lying on the ground.

He quickly tossed himself at him and carried Virule into his embrace, suspicious at what happened. He glanced at an opened book as he took a look at a note attached to it. He read it and with each passing moment his face became more and more distraught, before finally tears started running down his face as he dropped to his knees while still holding Virule.

The scene changed again and now I can see myself inside a place full of mystical energy twirling around. I saw a woman's silhouette in the background, she was likely to be Virule's mother.

"It had failed." A voice resounded throughout the place, it had a mixture of two voices a woman's and a child's. They turned silent as if waiting for my response.

"What do you mean failed?" I asked the silhouette.

"Our soul had leaked, and we are dying."

"We? Does that mean I'm also dying?"

"Yes, however because of that. You were brought into our consciousness."

"So because of your experiment, the three souls of this body are now dying? I think that is really unfortunate...So in the end I was fated to die huh..."

"No, you won't"

"Why?"

"Because we won't let you die."

"Huh...?"

"Mark Paul Garudo...We have seen your memories..."

"Memories? Do you mean all of them?" The silhouette nodded.

"Can you tell me what they were please? I really wanted to know myself before I die here..." The silhouette became silent, she had transparent tears on that glass-like eyes of hers while fighting something...invisible.

"No."

"I see...then just let me die..."

"No."

"THEN WHY?"

"You don't need to know your memories, Mark. You are already blessed to not have it. Also I would like to explain to you that we won't let you die because you are a good person. You were just caught up in my failed experiment, an experiment where I should have fused with my son's soul so that I would function as a defensive mechanism for him as he grows through his life. However due to an unfortunate twist we had failed and our soul was fading away from existence.

"You on the other hand luckily arrive in this body, making our existence fade more slowly than before but that only made our situation more dangerous as one body could not contain three souls at the same time, it was only because my soul and my son's soul was already fading away that you had the opportunity to acquire this body."

"Though it seems that something has been released inside your body that made our souls become unstable."

"It was the red pill huh..."

"A fluke that made an opportunity for us to meet, and we won't let you die here."

"How are you certain that I won't die? When you already failed once?"

"It was ignorance on my part, however your situation right now is something I'm acquainted to so I won't let it happen again."

"Is there something I needed to do for this? A favor I would make?"

"There is none, our soul is already on the verge of breaking and even if we found a body to fused with, it would only last for days until our souls perish. So what we planned was to let you have a portion of my memory, so that you could use to live comfortably in Grandia Lands."

"So you're giving me all of this for free? Because you have no choice huh..."

"Yes, I think you already know that Mark."

"Okay so how do we do this?"

"It will be faster than you think it should." The silhouette touched my forehead with her finger and in that moment, knowledge streamed into my mind, enlightening me with her selected memories. After that everything became silent. I opened my eyes again and saw that the transparent silhouette was flickering.

"Also, I can't let you go without a clue of your previous memories Mark so here's a short word from me."

"You are special, never let anyone take that away from you. You never wanted to sought out riches, glory or even power. However, your only desire is that you want to be the best version of you and I have no complaints about it. I am rooting for you. That is all."

"Thank you...Your name's Yirene huh? I knew from the memories you gave... And also can I ask for a hug from you? I really need it..." Yirene's silhouette chuckled at my request but she quickly covered my entire body with her transparent light that gave off warmth.

"Thank you, I think this is goodbye now right?"

"Of course, do be careful on your journey. Don't make the Hearst name be sullied by others." After finishing her words, her silhouette grew faint, until it disappeared from my view.

The surrounding change and I returned to my room's interior, however I quickly got up from the floor as there was a rising bile in my stomach threatening to come out. I hurled myself quickly into the cleaning box.

"Bleerghh...Atleast I know a new purpose for the cleaning box now...ugh..."
