CHAPTER TWENTY- SEVEN

"Do you even love me?" he asked

"I do Alex,I really do"

"you don't, because if you love me like you said, you would at least try to make it work out for us and not try to abandon me"

"that's not it"

"then what is it, am about taking a big risk just to be with you, infact I have already started taking risk for you"

"am scared Alex"

"I am too,you think am not,but it's enough of my parent taking decisions for me, it's my life,I want to be happy, I want to be with the woman I love, just for once, I want to make a decision for myself"

"I can't do this"she said and her silent sobbing became a loud one that drew attention to them again.

"Fine, let me drop you at home" he said and stood on his feet and turned away from her and began to walk to where the car was parked. She hastily stood up and wrapped her hands around him and rested her head on his back, still crying, she said, "I don't think I can live without you Alex, a day doesn't pass by without me thinking of you, when I wake up in the morning, the first person that pops in my head is you and when I want to sleep at night the last thing I think of is you Alex, I love you, I swear I do but what am I suppose to do" she said and he turned around and hugged her tight, he sniffed back the tears that had welled up in his eyes and rested his head on her shoulder and he tightened his hands around her waist and closed his eyes and she cried in his arm.

He drove her home and by the time they reached her home,it was already dark. Alex pulled over and placed his right hand on hers and she smiled at him. "we are still dating right!" he asked and she nodded her head.

"don't worry, am not going to run, at least not now"

"at least not now?"

"am still scared"

"you won't ever leave will you?"

"Alex, you know I love you" she said and caressed his cheek with her fingers, "goodnight, take care, call me when you get home". She came down from the car and waved at him and went inside and he drove off.

she got to the living room and was happy no one was there,she went to her room and fell heavily on her bed. Ever since she had learnt that Alex was the son of a conglomerate, she had been disturbed and worried and she wished she never got to know, the fear of loosing him gripped her heart every now and then, even when she had told him she can't date him anymore, she still wasn't ready to let him go. The door to her room pushed open and she hastily sat on the bed and her brother walked in.

"learn to knock and stop barging into my room anyhow"

"sorry about that"

"what is it?"

"hey, calm down, stop being harsh on me"

"am not in the mood for this and am tired, I want to rest"

"what's wrong with you, did you cry" he said, staring at her face that had swollen up as a result of the tears she shedded back at the love garden. " is it Alex,? I know you went out with him"

"good for you, what else do you have to say?"

"I still have a bad feeling concerning that guy"

"Sam please, don't add to my problem, please"

"do you want to go back to college now Josphy"

"why are you suddenly bringing that up"

"he is a big man sis, Peterson Pitt's heir, even if he loves you, his parent will never accept you, even the society won't, if you love him and wish to be with me, make yourself worthy of him Josphy,go back to college and complete your education"

"Sam I...

"instead of going back to where you dropped out, let's get you into a private university, it will go a long way"

"private? With which money"

"we have enough savings to enroll you"

"and after that?"

"worry about now first Josphy"

"we can't afford it, what about home, feeding and other stuffs?"

"stop worrying about tomorrow, let tomorrow come first before you start worrying"

"okay, what about you,it would be selfish of me to do that"

"imagine everything turns out well for you,you end up marrying him and stuffs like that, you will be able to send me to the best schools, I can even go overseas,but first let's give you a future and see, it's buisness administration you are going for, you are brilliant sis, you can do it, I know you can"

"Oh God Sam, I wanted to end things with him today,but I just couldn't"

"I know you love him very much,if he makes you cry again, his let me know, I will beat him to a pulp" he said and she chuckled

"thank you" she whispered and he nodded his head.
