CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO

"Josphine" he called still crying, "Josphine" he called again and lifted her up in a bridal style,he rushed to where his car was and laid her down on the passenger seat gently and got into the driver seat and drove off, heading for the hospital, his body trembling with great fear. She wasn't standing nor was she trying to cross the road when the car hitted her, one thing was clear to him, whosoever hitted her with the car, did it intentionally. Though his father might be against their relationship but he isn't a brutal man to want to kill someone in such a ruthless way without any emotions attached.

He reached the hospital and some nurses quickly rushed over to him and when they saw it was Alexandra Pitt, doctors began rushing out to meet him, he carried Josphine out of the passanger seat and placed her on the stretcher and the doctors began attending to her, passing down oxygen to her and giving her first aid as they headed for the operating room. "Josphine open your eyes,baby please stay with me" he said, tears rolling down his face non-stop.

"stay back mr Alex" one of the doctor said and he stayed behind while they went into the operating room and he rested his back against the wall weakly. Minutes later, her parent came rushing to the hospital with Sam and Lydia. He had called Sam and informed him about the accident.

"Alex" Sam called and went closer to him, "what happened?"

"she got hit by a car"

"what did the doctor say?"

"they are still operating on her"

"oh my beautiful daughter" Grace said and broke down in tears and cried uncontrollably.

"How did it happen, that road is not always busy for a hit and run accident to occur" Lydia said

"I know what happened" Grace said and went over to where Alex stood and took his hands in hers. "That lady that came to our house to threaten us must be behind this, please stay away from my daughter, please am begging you, end your relationship with her, stop seeing her, she is in between life and death now, please am begging you, help a helpless mother please" she pleaded with him.

"mom stop it" Sam said

"stop what, you should join me to plead with him to stay away from your sister"

"am sorry ma'am, am so sorry for causing you trouble" he said and released his hand from her hold and left the hospital. He got into his car and drove off, heading for the Lincoln's mansion, he didn't care that it was late, he had suspected from the beginning that they were behind this, he knew how brutal her father was and that was one of the main reasons why he had a second thought about his marriage to his daughter.

He reached the Lincoln's mansion and was escorted in by a guard, who led him to the living room. "have your seat, they will be here soon" the guard said to him and he sat on the couch, waiting impatiently for their arrival. Few seconds later Mr Pitt with his daughter and wife arrived in the livingg room and the guard bowed before leaving.

"What a surprise Alex, what are you doing here this late" Mr Pitt said

"Did you hire someone to hit her with a car" he said without beating around the bush, he isn't in the mood to exchange greetings and pleasantries, that's not what he came here for.

"Alex, what are you saying?" Sarah spoke

"yes what do you mean by did he hire someone to hit her with a car?" Mrs Pitt added

"is it that you don't know what am talking about or you are feigning ignorance"

"So what if I did?" he said and a wicked chuckle escaped Alex lips

"so I was going to wed the daughter of a murderer"

"Alexandra" Sarah yelled and he stood on his feet

"you should have been careful and reasonable with your decision, I won't allow you disgrace my daughter, marry her, if you don't want to see the people you love get hurt"

"so you are admitting that you hired someone to hit her with a car"

"I didn't, I don't even know who you are talking about"

"you cherish your own daughter but wants to kill someone's child, tell your daughter to watch her back and be careful where she goes, you are not the only one who is brutal" he said and moved closer to him, "It seems you don't know me that well, I will cause you pain and make sure you feel the same pain are parent are feeling right now, so you better hold your daughter tight and help her watch her back and again, stay away from her and her family, if you don't want to also see your precious ones hurt"

"are you threatening me?"

"no it's a warning" he said and walked out of the house.

"Dad what did you do to the girl?"Sarah asked

"Quiet!" he yelled

"honey, I told you that girl is someone's daughter and that you shouldn't hurt her"

"will you shut up!" he yelled, "how dare he walk into my home and threaten me, that boy sure have some liver, he had the nerve and audacity to walk in here and spill nonsense, call his parent and set up a meeting with them, we will look for a way to call off the wedding quietly and put the blame on them"

"father" Sarah called

"Quiet, you heard him now didn't you, if you marry him, he is only going to maltreat you and I can't allow my daughter to marry such a mannerless man and at the same time, I won't make him have that girl, I will teach him a lesson that he will never forget and for the meantime, stay at home Sarah don't go anywhere,I don't know what he is capable of doing"

"Michael, you are protecting your daughter but you hurt someone else's daughter, that's evil"

"keep quiet, please" he said and left the living room. Sarah sat on the chair heavily and buried her head in her palm, if she had known, she wouldn't have told her dad, she was hoping he would cub the situation, but he only made matter worst.
