Chapter 18

Einar woke up the next day with a big smile. He was starting school today, something he had not had the pleasure of doing before.

He was enrolled in both the fighters class and in the mages class, so he had gotten two different robes as his school uniform.

The uniform of the mages was all white, with some blue lines in them. Einar did not like this design too much, as it was too bright for him.

The fighter's school uniform was a little more to his liking. It was also a robe, but it was an open robe, with a jacket and pants underneath. The jacket and pants were made of leather material, which was completely black, with some red outlines. The robe was of the same color, it was just made from linen instead.

His classes for today consisted of mage classes, where he would learn about how he could use mana the best way.

The classes at the academy were not at all like other schools, they did not just sit on a bench to listen. They were almost all the time out practicing and fighting to hone their skills. Then there would be a teacher there to correct their mistakes.

Even though Einar had mage classes today, he still used the fighter's classes uniform, as it looked much better.

With the uniform and his class plans, there was also a small note that said where he had to meet and at what time. Today he had to meet the class on the training field at 7 am, an early morning start.

He took on his ropes, admired the looks, and then went to the training field, as he did not want to be late, he would rather be early.

Einar thought that he was quite good-looking in these ropes. He was around 185 centimeters tall, with quite a fit build. He did not look buff, but you could see the refined muscles. His long hair complemented the robes quite a lot.

When he arrived though, he saw that the whole class had already arrived. They were all early, and so were the teachers. He felt like he had come too late, even though he was actually early.

"You must be Einar!" The teacher looked at Einar up and down. He saw Einar walking over there, and he knew that Einar was also enrolled in the fighters class, which is why the uniform didn't surprise him.

Einar just nodded at the teacher, not saying a word, but still smiling with a polite smile.

"Good, then introduce yourself to the class!" The teacher looked at Einar with an indifferent expression. He did not care, that he had another student, all he cared about was teaching.

The students of the class had not heard of Einar, so they were surprised to see a new student here. He was not even wearing their uniforms, which also surprised them.

He did not have the look of a mage, as he had a sword hanging at his waist. At the moment, he looked like a swordsman in the wrong class.

"Hello everyone, my name is Einar, and I will be joining your class today! Please take care of me!" Einar said as politely as he could, with a small smile.

The girls in the class were quite charmed by Einar, he had quite the charming smile. They could not really keep their eyes off him, he looked heroic with the sword at his waist, the long hair fluttering in the air and those charming eyes that pulled them all in. They felt a special air around him, which none of the guys in the class had.

"Now that you all know Einar, let us get started with class!" The teacher said loudly. "Even though we are mages, and we fight from range! We still need strong physical bodies!" The teacher said out loud. "So the first thing we need to do today is physical training!" He said with a smile. He knew that most of the people here would not enjoy that.

"Why though?" One of the fatter students complained. He did not like the thought of physical training. He had probably become a mage, so he did not have to do any physical activities.

"Let me counter your question with a question!" The teacher said with a smile. "What will you do, if you run out of mana in a fight? just sit there and die?" The teacher asked the student.

The student could not answer. He knew that if he ran out of mana, he had nothing he could do.

"That is why we need to train the body, so you at least will have a chance to run!" The teacher said slowly. With a strong physical body, they did not need spells to run.

Einar agreed with the teacher, what does strength matter if you can not even survive. On the journey to strength, there will be many times when you might have to run, and if you can't do that, you will die before you even get strong. A dead genius is worse than a living commoner.

"We will start today's class with a 10-kilometer run, without spells! The first to finish will get the chance to enter the second floor of the library!" The teacher said with a smile. He wanted to motivate his students.

All of the students were pumped up after hearing this until someone said something. "We have a fighter in our class, he will have a huge advantage!"

This made all the students look at Einar with a sad look. How could mages like them, win against a swordsman like him?

"Don't worry about that, I have something that will make it harder for him!" As he said this, a man came from behind him. This man was carrying a weighted west, which weighed fifty kilograms. This was quite a hefty amount, but not too bad for Einar, as he had a good amount of strength.

"Einar, you will have to run with this!" The teacher said as he pointed at the west.

"Okay!" Einar said as he walked over to put it on.

To the teacher's surprise, he could not see a difference in his expression. He had expected that fifty kilograms would at least make him grimace, but it looked like Einar was actually quite comfortable. 'It seems we already have a winner' the teacher thought to himself.

Einar felt great confidence in himself. He might not have great stamina, but 10 kilometers was not a big deal for him. The west did not threaten his chance at all, as it didn't feel like much on his body.

"Okay everyone, you will just run around the training field! there are around 500 meters around, which means you have to pass the start 20 times!" the teacher said slowly. "Now, everyone get to your places!"

All the students moved to the mark that was meant to be the start. Einar did not hurry, as he did not mind being in the back, he had confidence he would be faster than all of them.

There was another student he paid attention to, as he had the same look of confidence that Einar had. He also chose to do as Einar, to start in the back. He was also quite fit, with a pretty boy face. He had kind eyes and short blond hair.

"Hey, you have confidence in winning?" The blond guys saw Einar look at him, as he asked.

"Haha, yeah, and you?" Einar asked back.

"Of course I do!" The blond guy said. "My name is Henrik Addison by the way!" The blond guys said.

"Oh, the Addison family? You know Mathilde then?" Einar asked as he had heard that Mathilde's last name was also Addison.

"You know my sister?" Henrik showed a smile, he showed a happy look talking about her.

"Yeah, I met her on the way here, we traveled together for a little while!" Einar answered back. He still had a polite smile.

"Oh, so she is in the capital too?" Henrik asked, with a curious look. He had not seen his sister for a while, it might be time for him to see her again.

"Yeah, she wanted to talk to her father!" Einar answered honestly, he did not really feel like it was some big secret.

"About the marriage I see!" Henrik already knew about how his sister did not like this marriage deal. "Thank you, Einar, for this small talk! But I think it is time to run! HAHA!" Henrik said.

"START!" Einar did not even react to him yelling, but Henrik did. He ran from Einar, and in the end, Einar was standing at the start by himself.

So he turned around, and started to run himself, he needed to catch up to the groups, and find a way to get in front of them all. He knew he could not use the two spells he knew, so he had to do it with his physical body.
