Chapter 15

As Einar opened the door into his room, he was surprised to see how luxurious it was. It looked like a room for the royal people. To be fair, he is in the royal academy.

Even though it was luxurious, it was also very simple. It was two rooms. A bathroom and a bedroom. The bedroom had a bed, a table and some chairs. Everything one needed in a room they slept in.

There were two windows in his room, and there was a beautiful view of the capital if you chose to look outside.

Einar did not really feel like admiring all of these things, he just wanted to take a bath, and go to bed. A lot of things had happened to him today, and he was looking forward to the test tomorrow.

The night went by quickly, as Einar woke up early in the morning. He wanted to get this test done as soon as possible. So he went to the testing room and waited for Zarug to come.

Zarug also came quite early, so Einar did not have to wait for too long. They went into the testing room, and something surprised Einar. There were quite a lot of people. They all looked like powerful people.

They were all the teachers and the higher-ups from the school. They had chosen they wanted to see Einar's test since they had been told he had got a special color of 'Aura' and that he had defeated his heart demon.

"Don't worry about them!" Zarug had seen that Einar was looking at all the people. He did not tell Einar why they were here though since it did not really matter.

"Mhm," Einar gave a simple nod and focused on the middle of the room.

There were two crystal balls on two different platforms. Eina guessed that one of them was for testing his fighter talent, and the other was for his mage talent.

They looked quite plain though. They were both see-through, but one of them was a little more cloudy than the other. They were around the size of a human head.

"Now, it is time for the test of Einar!" A man saw that Einar had walked into the room, as he wasted to start the test. "Everyone watching, please be quiet while we perform the test!" He looked at all the teachers and higher-ups in the room.

"Einar, please step up here!" The man looked at Einar and asked him to come up.

Einar looked at Zarug, and Zarug nodded. Einar then walked up to the man, as he was told.

"The way this works is that you place your hand on the crystal, and then release either your 'Aura' or mana, considering which crystal you are using!" The man said to Einar "Do you understand?"

"I understand!" Einar nodded, as he looked at the man.

"Good, we will start by testing your fighter talent!" The man said to Einar, as he pointed at the crystal clear ball to the right. "Please do as you were instructed!"

Einar nodded at the man, as he went over to the crystal ball. Everyone in the room, looked at Einar now, they were all expecting him to score quite high.

Einar placed his hand on the crystal ball, as he released his 'Aura.' A black hue started to form around Einar, and the ball started to react to Einar. Stars started to form in the crystal ball.

"He really does have black 'Aura'!" One of the teachers couldn't help but whisper.

Everyone was looking at Einar like he was a talent. Even before they saw how many stars he formed. Just having an attributed 'Aura' was a big deal, since this would give him an edge over others.

Right now, 7 stars had formed inside the crystal ball. This number was not enough to get into the school. Another star formed shortly after, and then another. It kept going until it hit 11 stars.

When it hit the eleventh star, it stopped increasing. Einar stood there for half a minute without it rising, as the man in the back walked over to Einar.

"That is some decent talent kid, you can stop now!" The man slowly said to Einar, as he asked him to release his hand from the crystal.

"Okay!" Einar withdrew his hand from the crystal.

The moment before he withdrew it though. Something was about to happen in the crystal, which only the principal had noticed. There were 4 faint stars that were about to form, but they were so faint, that they were barely noticeable, unless you looked for them.

This made Zarug smile, but he did not say anything. He knew that if they knew he had that kind of talent, Einar would never get a normal school life, as the higher-ups in the schools would recruit and train him. This would in turn make it so he had no time for his private life, and the country would own him.

"Decent talent, but nothing we haven't seen before!" One of the higher-ups observing the test said he was a little disappointed.

"Yeah, that is true ... But there is still the test for mage talent!" Another one of them said, as he still held some hope for Einar.

Einar had no idea of what they were talking about, he didn't care either. The talent test did not mean anything to him either. All he wanted was to join the academy to get stronger. He had the mindset that hard work beats talent.

"Decent talent kid, we now know you can join just on your fighter talent!" The man who was doing the test said, as he was looking at Einar. "You don't have to take the mage test if you don't want to!" He said to Einar, but he still felt like it would be a waste not to test it.

"You have already prepared for the mage test, I might as well take it!" Einar said as he was a little curious.

"Good, then step over to the other crystal, and do as you were instructed!" The man said to Einar, with a small smile.

"Mhm," Einar nodded, and walked to the cloudy crystal on the left.

He placed his hand on the crystal and started to move his mana into the crystal. Eight stars formed immediately.

*GASP* Everyone in the room drew in a mouthful of hair.

This took everyone in the room by surprise. They had never seen something like this before.

The stars then quickly shot to the 11 mark, like his fighter talent was. It did not stop here though, as another two stars formed, and he was now at 13 stars. This meant that he could be one of the strongest mages in the country.

It sadly stopped at 13, since it was stagnant at this amount for more than a minute. It was still one of the greatest talents this school had seen for a mage.

The highest number they had seen until now, was 14, which was from the current principal of the academy. He was now the strongest figure in the kingdom.

"He is quite talented, should we try and recruit him into the kingdom?" One of the higher-ups said. He was thinking that they could not give a talent like this up.

"Give it some time, we will see where he is in one year!" One of the older people said. He was one of the people with the most authority.

This was what Zarug was afraid of, he didn't want to have Einar be a slave of the kingdom. He wanted the disciple of Rayes to live freely. Not to live like someone like himself.

'It seems like I need to have a talk with Einar!' Zarug thought as he wanted to do everything in his power to help Einar. He respected Rayes, and he didn't want Einar to live a sad life, more than he already had.

"Great talent Einar! Do you want to join the mage's class?" The man was that was making the test was very excited. He liked talents, which was why he was the one doing the tests.

"Mhm, I want to join the swordsman class too!" Einar replied. He wanted to be a 'Magic Swordsman'.

"Really? Are you sure?" The man looked at Einar with surprise. "This means you have twice as much work as everyone else!" The man warned Einar.

"That's fine, all I want is to become stronger!" Einar was excited to start his journey to get stronger.

"Okay, that is fine! I will set that up for you!" The man was both sad and impressed by Einar. He was impressed by his determination to get stronger, but sad since this meant he would have no time for a social life. That is detrimental for a kid like Einar.

"Einar, please come with me now!" Zarug said to Einar, as he was about to leave the room.
