Chapter 1: The Orphanage

"Where am I?"

The moment I open my eyes, I was laying down to a small bed of an old building, full of bruises and so hungry. I have no idea where I am. While thinking I heard voices outside of the old building, I immediately follow where the voices came from.

And I saw children's happily playing with muds, they all covered with dirt and looks so skinny. They all looked likes from mixed races. I started to feel strange and uncomfortable I decided to walk around and observe silently. It looks like we are in a mountain, I can't see any houses near us. We are surrounded with large trees and lakes.

While looking around I accidentally look to the lake near me. I was so surprised to what I saw.

My reflection looks different to while a remember.

I saw a very beautiful young lady that looks like a teenager, she has long silver hair and a pair of round amethyst colored eyes. She has long eyelashes and pinkish pale lips, she has round jawline and her skin looks smooth and so white. She was wearing a long white dress and was covered by bruises all over her body.

She reminds me of my favorite character in a novel I read recently, called 'my dear lady'. The villainess adopted younger sister. Her name is Altair, means the brightest star in the constellation Aquila. She was an orphan in rural orphanage located to the mountains. She was found by the Duke Doran Eckhart the villainess father. Altair is an intelligent person who can use any type of magic. She loves her sister unconditionally even though she was treated by her badly. She died young saving her sister Elena from the hands of the crown prince.

I fall in my knees as I realize that I become the villainess sister. I don't even know why I'm here and now I become the villainess sister who died young…

I won't let her die. I will change Altair fate and live peacefully! HAHAHAHAHA.

I snap to reality when someone push me and fell to the lake.

I can't swim…

Someone save me…

I slowly lost my consciousness as I drift down to the lake.

Am I going to die like this? Why?

When I woke up, I was laying down in the bed again inside the same old building.

I can't barely move.

When I fell of the lake, I remember my last moment before I become Altair.

I was walking home with my older sister when a truck suddenly lost control. The truck was moving towards my older sister direction. I immediately run towards where my sister and push her away from the moving truck.

I was hit by the truck.

I can feel pain in every inch of my body.

I saw my sister crying and shouting for help besides me.

'Am I going to die now?'

I still want to finish my favorite novel.

I want to know, if Altair did really die in the hands of the crown prince…

I slowly lost my consciousness.

And then when I woke up, I am already inside Altair body.

I was little started when something moved beside me. It was a young boy in my age he was sleeping soundly in the chair nears me, while holding my hand.

'Who?'

I stare at him. He has black hair and full bruises like me. I can't see his face.

I was almost had an heart attack when he slowly woke up and meet my eyes.

I'm a little bit stunned by his appearance.

He was the most beautiful person I have ever see in my whole life. He has black hair, and pairs of dark blue eyes, has pointed nose and reddish lips. His skin is so white like me and also covered with bruises.

"Do you feel better now? Al?" he said worriedly.

"I'm okay now. Thanks for worrying Lucas." I automatically said his name.

Some of Altair memories flows to my head. I felt a little dizzy.

A memory with Lucas.

Lucas is the only person who cares about Altair in the orphanage. In the book Lucas is not mentioned by the author. Well Altair is not the main character that's why it was expected that her background story is not worth mentioning by the author.

Lucas is being adopted by a noble family. He will leave this shitty orphanage tomorrow.

This kid Lucas is Altair only friend in this orphanage.

We are both treated badly by the care givers and kids in the orphanage. We both found our peace with each other accompany.

Lucas hold both of my hands and started crying.

"I don't want to leave you here…in this hellish orphanage…sob"

'What a kind hearted kid.'

"Don't worry about me Lucas I would be okay." I said as I wipe down his tears using my sleeves.

After the talk with Lucas we decided to get some sleep. He slept besides me and holds my hand tightly.

'I hope you live happily.'

Today is the day Lucas will leave the orphanage.

I'm a little bit sad and happy at the same time.

Even though I only with him for a short period of time. I really felt his care for Altair.

I bid my farewell to my dear friend Lucas in front of the carriage that will take him away from here.

"let's meet again someday." I said while hugging him for the last time.

"I will come back to you, I promise." Lucas while holding back his tears from falling.

"let's go." Said by the man inside the carriage.

Lucas goes inside the carriage and did not look back.

I can see how his shoulder tremble as if he is crying.

The carriage started moving away till I can't barely see it anymore.

A tears started to fall from my eyes. And I started crying out loud like a child.

'I'm all alone now.'

After crying for an hour, I went back to the orphanage and pretend as if nothing happened.

'I have to be strong.'

A month passed by and the day that the Duke Eckhart will visit the orphanage has come.

Because of the Duke Eckhart visit the whole orphanage is in a complete panic.

The kids are busy dressing up to look good in front the Duke.

The orphan caregivers are busy decorating and cleaning.

While here I am stuck inside the old library of the orphanage.

The kids lock me up, so that the Duke Eckhart won't see me.

'So petty'

I look around the shelves and found an interesting book. The book glowing in a purple color.

I sit at the library floor and scan the book.

The books smell so old and a little bit dusty.

The book had no title in it. It was still glowing and looks magical.

The books reminded me of grimoire, the book of alchemist.

As I open the book, the pages are empty.

'So useless.'

I decide to keep the book and put it to my bag.

There's nothing to do here.

I was about to close my eyes and sleep. When the door of the library suddenly opened up and reveal a handsome gentleman around his 30's. He had sapphire hair and a pair of amethyst eyes. The moment I saw him I already know who's this man is, he is the villainess father, Duke Eckhart the king's right-hand man.
