Let me introduce you.

Thrashing heavily with the wind, rain was pouring violently onto the glass pane. A messy room with the stench of sweat and odor, lay a pale girl with messy brown hair.

Her eyelids flutter, blinking slowly a few times. As if dazed as to what happened.

She slowly woke up from her deep slumber, mind still fogged with haze. Not clear at all.

"Ugh..." She groaned, getting out of the bed and sitting down on it instead.

"Monica...?" She called the woman's name she barely remembered, looking around her in confusion. A dreamy like expression plastered on her morning face.

"Monica?" Vella, no, Yeona called out again. Her voice still raspy and hoarse.

Yeona scrambled out of the bed, walking around the small room, opening the white door that blocked the entrance.

"Did she go?" Yeona muttered disappointingly, her head hung low. She still needed her help, the world around her was still new and big for her.

"Did you call my name?" A woman's voice suddenly appeared out of nowhere, making Yeona jump in surprise.

"Monica! Where did you go?" Yeona asked cautiously, her heart still beating rapidly from surprise.

"Well, I went back to where I came from of course, where else should I go?" Monica chuckled, her red tainted lips forming a amused smile. "So what do you need help with?"

"Oh, well... Could you help me look around? I'm still very uncomfortable and a unfamiliar with... the 21st century? If I'm even correct." Yeona said, pausing at a few words, she couldn't find the right words to say.

"Well I'm guessing, you want to look around? Should I give you a little tour and introduction? Looks like you need help, a lot." Monica said, giving a light lazy shrug.

"Yes! Please do, I- I'm still very confused right now..." Yeona said, muttering her words with a even quieter tone each word. Her fingers fumbled around nervously, and a embarrassed blush bloomed on her cheeks.

"No need to be shy, you can ask me for anything you need." Monica smiled at her, thinking Yeona looked like a small afraid bunny, she needed to toughen up in a world like this. "Well, currently it's raining, I should give you a tour about the world outside later. For now, let's learn about your new self. We'll go outside after rain stops."

"Okay, Monica." Yeona nodded agreeing, her nerves calmed down.

Monica smiled warmly, yet Yeona could sense an unfamiliar chill oozing out of her. It was bizarre and uncomfortable. "Well Vella, your name from now on wont be Vella De Evan, it's Joo Yeona from now on."

Yeona suddenly fell into a daze, her thoughts suddenly wracking up. She was no longer Vella de Evan, she was now Joo Yeona.

She was no longer a mere adopted child of a noble family, but a person from the far distant future. A scary unimaginable place she once never thought of. Her identity changed too sudden for her to comprehend.

"Yeona? Yeona?" Monica called, her hand waving in front of her face, snapping her fingers a few times.

"A-ah? Oh, sorry Monica, I just fell in some thoughts just now..." Yeona exclaimed, shaking her thoughts away.

"Never mind, it's ok. Let's move from your room to the living room. The old Yeona… was quite a messy person." Monica said as she scrunched her nose in disgust.

Yeona who only now realized the sweaty odor and messy floor quickly nodded her head, following Monica who walked to the living room which was much more neat and cool, minimalistic and cozy.

Yeona lived in a apartment building, the living room was exposed with a big glass window that cut the patio and living room off. It was a cool room with white, gray, and green plant undertones.

"Now, sit down Yeona. You need to calm down, try rearrange your messy thoughts, you could get stressed easily."

Yeona nodded, sitting down stiffly on the puffy sofa. Her fingers fumbled nervously together, her eyes kept looking around. She couldn't keep calm.

"I'll tell you about Yeona's family first. For some reason I could not give you her past memories, so it seems you have to make new ones." Monica sighed, looking at the window that only let the dim lighting of grey clouds through. Signs of rain coming down.

"Yeona has quite an... estranged family. Her mother and father... well their relationship is more on par with strangers than a pair of parents and daughter. They rarely talk, it feels as if her parents don't care about her at all. She has a sister named Jaemi, she's four years older than Yeona and she works in a corporate office. They're quite close and dependent on each other."

"Ah, I see." Yeona nodded understandingly, she didn't find it surprising. Her own family was much worse, she would rather be estranged with her family than talk to them. Talking to them only brought fear and unease.

"Yeona, I'll give you a week to get used to everything. You can call for me if you need any help, I'm always there if you need help. In one week you need to start university. I've already taken care of your absence for a week, so no need to worry."

"Ah, yes thank you, but... may I know what 'university' is?" Yeona asked embarrassingly, a blush appearing on her cheeks.

Monica faltered for a moment before chuckling, "Ah silly me, sorry I keep forgetting to explain everything. University is somewhat similar to the academy that you used to have. It's quite different as it's mostly for new adults and to pursue further education in your preferred area."

"I see, so what is Yeona pursuing then?" Yeona asked, feeling awkward as it felt she was addressing someone else and not herself now.

"Well, Yeona is pursuing a degree in law. She was aiming to become a corporate lawyer. if I'm not mistaken..." Monica said, trailing off in her last sentence.

Yeona nodded, feeling grateful to Monica. Everything felt so unfamiliar and strange. It lit a sense of fear inside of her, churning her stomach.

"It looks like I need to go, my time is quite limited. I suppose we shall meet soon enough?" Monica smiled, her dazzling smile made Yeona fall into a trance, as if falling for a trap.

Yeona snapped out of it, "Y-yes, I suppose we shall meet soon." Yeona said, smiling in a embarrassed manner. Monica only shook her head towards her, chuckling lightly.

"I hope you feel better when we meet again." Monica said, before standing up and nodding her head towards Yeona in a polite manner.

Yeona smiled sadly, melancholy emitting from her expressive eyes. She watched as Monica disappeared into black fog in front of her, scattering away into the air.

Yeona slowly stood up as she walked towards the clear door of the patio, her eye catching the handle as she pushed the door slightly. Heavy rain was pouring down on the gloomy city, Yeona sat on the small chair that was placed in the corner, barely avoiding the pouring rain that splattered on the ground.

She put up her knees, resting her chin and arms on her knees and stared at the pouring rain. Melancholy and sadness still filling up her eyes. Tears began welling up once more. She buried her head in her arms, hiding away the sadness that was still fresh in her heart.

She could never love someone as much as Isak once more.

Tears of the crying sky fell on the downcast city, just like Yeona who poured her tears into the wounds of her heart that could not heal.
