Chapter 8: Seige

One of the men came from behind me and held me at knife-point. I yelled to Horace, Rune, and Kirnon.

"Kirnon!"

"Taratheil! Let her go!" screamed Rune.

"She is pregnant!" screamed Horace.

The man chuckled at them.

"You really think that matters. She is ours now. Her baby and life are ours. Who knows? We may have our fun with her after digging the baby out."

"Nooo!" I screamed.

I elbowed the man in the stomach. He had the knife at my stomach, so when I moved it slashed me in the thigh.

"Aaaaah!"

"Taratheil! Guys, let's protect her! Kill him!" yelled Kirnon.

I was bleeding but it was shallow so I could stand on my feet. I stood there watching as one man charged at me.

I braced for the knife, but the man stopped. I realized that Kirnon drew his sharp claws through his chest.

"Aaaah! The baby!" I screamed, "It's coming!"

I held my stomach and tried to bear it. The contractions. The three brothers came over to me and sent for the doctor. I was sent to the birthing chamber. I pushed and pushed for what seemed like minutes. I successfully delivered twins: a boy and a girl.

The brothers came in and held my hand while focusing their attention on the babies.

They named the boy Alaric, and the girl Jastyra.

I named her Jastyra in remembrance for my mother. I know that she will grow up to be strong like her grandmother.
