Ch-105
Lenora knew it's time to reveal everything to their family now. She called everyone into the study to say the things that she knew.
"What is it?" Eudora asked.
"Just like Zaros, and the woman in the court, Sister Victoria was controlled by Azazel. That was the reason why she carried out so many wars with Werewolf. Ophelia was the one who delivered Azazel's orders. When he thought she was under his control completely, he decided to make a move on me. But my birth mother, Andrea, already took off the spell ring from her and cured her normally. Sister Victoria did her best to protect me and sacrificed while protecting me. With the help of my mother, she revived her soul to pass me the truth about this. And I come from the Ravenna witch blood line. That was why I am turning more human with passing days," Lenora said everything needed in breif. They doesn't have much time to discuss everything in details. After all, the crowning was near.
Adira wasn't aware of any plots. Everyone felt she should be kept out of the issue, as she was the youngest and should not be involved in any of these schemes. They all let her be under security and watched her. But they were confident that nothing would happen to Adira.
To them, Adira was an innocent rabbit who shouldn't be involved in any schemes. She was that princess who was doted on by everyone. Yes, she was hard to control but she knew when to advance and retreat. She was smart enough to protect her. And given everything that was happening, she was the last one to be targeted. They all thought… since Victoria was targeted and Lenora was involved she would be the one to be targeted.
But who knew… They were wrong.
A worried Lenora ran to Zaros's study. She started banging on the door as she grew impatient. "Sister, what is it?" he asked.
Zaros was not expecting the incessant banging when he was discussing the urgent. He frowned when he heard Lenora's voice. Lenora was more of a calm person.
How could she be banging so incessantly?
He wanted to ask her to stop. But the moment he opened the door, he felt like something was wrong. His heart was palpitating for some moments but seeing Lenora's worried and scared face, he felt like he was going to hear some news which he wouldn't like.
Maximus, Eudora, and Serene were present too. "What's wrong?" Serene asked. Everyone could feel something has happened.
Eudora looked at Lenora as if she wanted to what's happening. "Didn't you accompany Adira? Did something happen to her?" Eudora asked as she looked at her daughter. Hearing Adira's name, Lenora's face froze.
"What happened to her?" Eudora asked.
Everyone noticed the change in Lenora's expression when Adira's name was taken. Eudora felt a foreboding feeling.
Earlier, After Serene returned to clean up the mess in the Werewolf empire, they sat down and started talking about the developments in their plan.
At that time, Lenora said she wanted to accompany Adira for breakfast. So she went to wake her up, as the night was coming.
The crowning ceremony starts in 10 hours. But the moment she entered her chambers, Lenora didn't find Adira. She searched the whole kingdom, but she didn't find her. She didn't let anyone know about it. Lenora asked Celine to search for Adira secretly.
"My Lady, you have a letter," Celine said as she came running to her all of a sudden.
"What is it about?" Lenora asked. She doesn't know but she has a bad feeling about this letter. People who would write letters to her were in this very kingdom. But yet she received a letter.
With the situations they were in… it only means… it could be something bad. Lenora wished she was wrong.
She hurried back to her room, and saw a note, 'Come to me, Lenora. I will give her. ~Azazel,' the note read.
Lenora tried to calm her beating heart. Nobody was in the mood to notice the loudly beating heart. They were worried about Adira and the things that were happening around them.
Lenora gave this very note to others. Everyone was stumped reading the contents.
Among others, Zaros was the most shocked and couldn't understand why this happened. Adira was the most irrelevant person in this matter. But in the end, she was the one who got kidnapped.
Zaros started blaming himself. "It's my fault! I should have kept her with me. How could this happen? I am going to fucking kill that bastard!"
Zaros yelled. "Enough! We can't let him have his way. He needs this emotional outburst that could make us take the wrong step!" Eudora chided.
"But... Adira," he tried to say. A lone tear escaped his wife. He regretted abusing her. And he was groveling on it. But… why does it hurt so much that his heart started aching? Why was he crying?
Why was this happening to him?
His wife was the most innocent and harmless person in the world. Why does she have to go through this?
This damned Azazel! He will die today!
"Alright. But I will end him before the crowning ceremony starts," he stated.
"He knew Adira was the only one who did not know the dangers that he possessed. That was why he targeted her. How did we miss that if she disappeared before the crowning… everything would be chaotic," Lenora said.
Maximus was silent from start to finish. But one could see the anger in his body. His fangs and claws were out. His eyes were pure golden, with a mix of black. Lenora went beside him and sat with him.
She clasped her hands around him, making him look at her. "Shh… don't worry. We will find her," she said to him. He retracted his fangs and claws as he stared at her.
"But why does he need Lenora?" Eudora asked all of a sudden. Diverting them to the actual point.
"Yes, why does he need her? What plans does he have with her?" Serene asked.
"We should have found Ophelia. If she was with us… we would have gotten some leads," Lenora said with a sigh.
They were all at a stalemate. They can't take a step ahead or backward.
Just then, a bird made of paper entered the study room. The bird turned into parchment as it landed on the table. Before anybody could take it into their hands, the letter started flying in the air. Suddenly, the voice of Azazel could be heard.
"I know what you all are up to. Give up. Let my daughter, Lenora, come to me. I will not do anything to any of you.
"My dear daughter, Lenora, Don't worry. Come back to me, I will free this girl from my hostage."
With that, the paper burned on its own.
What? Daughter?
Lenora was his daughter?
How?
Lenora was shell-shocked hearing those words. How could that happen?
