"Ela, are you ready? Hurry up! We are going to be late."
"Where are we going? Why are we in such a hurry?"
"Trinity Police Academy."
"Trinity Police Academy? What are we going to do?"
"You said you wanted to be my assistant, and this is one of the requirements. You have to go to school first. Try to take written tests, physical ability tests, medical examinations, background checks, polygraph tests, and psychological screening. Once you have successfully passed all of these tests, you will be invited-- for an oral board interview. Here, you have the opportunity to show your skills."
"After successfully-- passing all the tests, will I become your assistant?"
"No, because it is just a recruiting process. There are still two more phases to go through--the first is the Police Academy. There you will undergo a lot of physical and theoretical training, learn how to use weapons, and catch criminals. Then you will learn about various laws and law enforcement procedures and gain practical skills in driving. The second is the Trial Period. During the trial period--you work with senior partners and receive on-the-job training. Ela, you do not have to worry. I will help you. I believe-- you will make it through all that, and we can work as a team."
"That means I'm a policewoman, not your assistant then."
"Yes, you will become a police officer helping to keep society safe by preventing and punishing crime. But if you can be a good cop, you can also be a detective who carries deep investigations into crimes-- to keep society educated and safe from serious offenses. Besides, I already have an assistant. Yes, I will give you time to think about-- whether to agree or disagree. Now let's get in the car."
"Ok, let's go!" me and Layzal went to the car.
Now we are in the car.
For a moment-- I started to think, "Why is it like this? Zal, why were you super serious when we just met? If only you knew that I was a vampire. Surely, you would find the Vampire Academy for me instead of the Police Academy. But there are benefits too if I can become a police officer because-- then I do not have to bother looking for prey. Moreover, the full moon is coming soon, and I need human blood. All I have to do is to catch criminals or robbers--that way, I am full," in my heart, I am happy.
"Ela, why are you smiling at yourself like that?"
"Happy, thank you, you are good!"
"Ela, tell me exactly, where do you come from?" asked Layzal.
"Ok, Mr. Layzal, I will answer your question as honestly as possible. My name is Elaine. I come from the city of Kenanga."
"Where is Kenanga City? Is it near Archipelago City?"
"I am not sure. You know I was here because of the bus conductor, remember?"
"Ah, all right. One day I will know the truth about where is the city of Kenanga," said Layzal while driving the car.

Finally, we arrived at our destination, Trinity Police Academy.
"Ela, let's get off. We are here."
"All right, let's go," me and Layzal get off from the car.
"Ela, it is not raining. Why are you using an umbrella?"
"It is hot. I am allergic to heat."
"Allergic to heat? But later, you will join the police training in the middle of the field, and it will be hot."
"Hmm, I will just take the evening class," I laughed, and he shook his head.
After that, we headed to his office, and Layzal gave me a pile of papers.
"Before we start the test, do you agree or not to become a policewoman?" asked Layzal with a serious--face.
I enthusiastically replied, "Agree."
"Good. Do all of these test papers now! Remember not to cheat."
"Now? I have not studied the module yet. If I do it right now, I will get Zero."
"It is easy, not difficult."
"Fine, I will do it now," I started working on the questions, and it was not difficult.
"Are you finished?" asked Layzal, who could not wait to see all my answers.
"That is it. I am, done," I returned all the questions to Layzal.
"Very good. Let me check first, and tomorrow the announcement," said Layzal.
"Is it that easy to be a cop?" I asked curiously.
"It is not easy. Sometimes candidates who enter the Academy are rejected because of poor performance. While some candidates give up themselves because they find it too difficult to finish."
"Oh, I see. Zal, sure I can pass the test!"
"Very good," Layzal smiled at me.
"Zal, you have lots of work. Now I want to go for a walk first, ok?" I asked.
"Sure, but do not come home late tonight, please."
"Sip, Bro," I went outside myself.
I went for a walk to the Lago market. At the market, I went to a beef slaughterhouse and bought cow blood using the money-- Layzal gave me. After that, I looked for a safe place and drank it. After that, I went home.
***
"Good evening Zal," I greeted Layzal, who was watching television.
"Good evening. Ela, why is your mouth bleeding?" Layzal asked, then he immediately headed towards me and wiped the blood on my lips.
"Oh, yeah, I hit a wall. Luckily my lips were not squished. Now I am going to shower, Zal," I tried to run away from him.
"Ela, wait! Why are you so cold? Are you sick?" he held my hand.
"No, I am fine. You do not need to worry." I immediately headed to my room. "Oh my gosh, it turns out there are still traces of cow's blood on my lips-- I hope he does not think of anything about it."
I immediately took a shower. After taking a shower, I lie on the bed and contemplate.
"Turns out it is hard being a vampire. I have to play hide-and-seek all the time. Besides, next time I have to look for food at night. But the problem is--there are no cattle traders at the night market. Why did I forget? I am a vampire. All I have to do is disappear and go to the goat or cow pen at night, so I would not be--caught. Especially Layzal, the detective leader, he does not know." I smile.
"Knock knock," the sound of a knock on the door.
"Ela, have you showered yet?" Layzal asked from outside my room.
I immediately opened the door and said, "Yes," then I left the room, and we sat in front of the TV.
"Ela, you did well on all the tests, so tomorrow, you start your police training at Trinity Police Academy."
"I passed the recruiting process? But you have not done a background check. I mean, an interview?"
"Sooner or later, I will know who you are. The true you!" said Layzal.
"But Zal, I want an evening class. Why is it during the day?"
"For one week, you will have training during the day. After that, you can attend classes in the evening. Since you have been accepted-- into Trinity Police Academy, now you choose, do you want to live with me or move to the dormitory?"
"Dormitory, I think it is appropriate."
"You can stay here with me. Every day we can go to the office together."
"It is all right. Zal, we will meet every day."
"Yes, yes, see you every day."
I never thought I could be a part of Trinity Police Academy so quickly. Now I have to find a way to survive in broad daylight. I know vampires are strong, but not anymore if stayed under the sun too long. Besides, I would not be running around in the hot sun, even if I had police training.
Lastly, I cannot imagine myself as a vampire police slash psychopath.
