Chapter 1: Life Without a Beloved

The weather had been very bad all week, especially owing to the heavy rainfall. It was the end of the week on a Saturday while Hiang Li was reminiscing the rain when he heard of the tragic death of Hua, Hiang Li's soon to be bride in an air plane crash while coming back from America. Hiang Li couldn't believe what he heard. For a moment he was dumbstruck, it was as if time and all had stopped moving as a tear drop rolled from his eyes. Hiang Li had some bad feelings about this since morning and even told Hua about his restlessness but she had refused to listen to him reassuring him that she'd be safe. Hiang Li immediately rushed to the site in haste with tears dropping from his eyes. When he reached there, he didn't know if he should die or cry seeing Hua in such a terrible condition. He couldn't even notice his beloved as her skin was burnt and her legs were cut off. All that he could see was a teardrop at the side of her eyes which he wiped off

"Hua Hua Hua please please wake up please just wake up already" he said while crying out his heart. It was not just because of her accident which made him cry but because of the deteriorating condition he saw her in. Hua had always been such a joyful and happy girl and even on her death bed she died smiling. Hiang Li blamed it on his bad luck which caused the death of his first love Chua and people he loved.

Hiang Li was no normal human, he was half human and half vampire.

Due to this during the red moon, Hiang Li killed his father. Hiang Li's mother was a vampire while his father was a scientist who carried out various experiment on the mother. Lui never loved Hiang's mother but only married her as a test subject as he desired for wealth and knowledge. Whenever his father was drunk he would use Hiang Li and his mother as punching bags. One day, while beating her, she died in the process when he stomped on her chest. This made Hiang Li very furious and angry which made him kill his father by mistake when he was a child. Whenever he slept he remembers those incidents as well as has nightmares about them.

Hiang Li was taken to a Juvenile home where he was given hard labour and punishment for killing his father till he was released by his uncle who took care of him and helped him succeed over his father's business. This made Hiang Li see his uncle as a god in his eyes

Hiang Li cried and cried all day long while holding her picture close to his heart till he fell asleep. He was filled with emptiness and sorrows. Everyone ran away from him but Hua was one of the few who loved him for who he was and not his money. The day passed really quickly as it was filled with sour and bitter emotions. He woke up early the next day, and saw that news of her death had spread like wild fire claiming that the plane was bombed by unknown men.

When he heard of this he was very very angry and was filled with rage since he was told that the plane crashed due to weather conditions. He clinched his fist saying "Who ever did this won't be speared this I'll make sure of". But he promised that he'd freshen up and act like nothing happened while trying to undercover this mystery.

A week had passed since after her death and he decides to go back to work since he could no longer continue to mourn her death. Hiang Li was also the CEO of Li Finance and co operation. Hiang Li actually changed a lot during this few days he turned from being depressed to being cold but cheerful to people cause that was all she wanted. Deep down all this was just a charade all planned by him.

When he reached work there were a lot of press though waiting to question him but he wasn't emotionally ready to answer them so he had the security chase them away. Everyone was surprised on the aura he gave off when he arrived at work.

But he had nothing to say about that what surprised him was actually the entire work load he had piled up for him he had never had so much before.

Hiang Li had to make sure each document was ready before next week but he thought of a better idea which was to higher a secretary well he was being a little lazy but a temporary one at that, if he needed the job done in time he just had to seek for help of a secretary though he felt it was not needed. Everyone had noticed an absurd change in Hiang Li but no one dared to speak a word or say a thing against him.

Speaking of which some people were actually very happy about the death of Hua just like Chenguang who had actually been seeking his attention but he gave her zero so the death of Hua was an opportunity for her to get close to Hiang Li. After the stressful day of giving interviews and attending to clients he was really exhausted. The rain was ferocious and he decided to go home early.

While going home in his car, he sees a girl all drenched in the rain, her hair covering her face, looking as though she had caught a cold while walking under the rain. He had a glimpse of her and one would see that she was very cute and beautiful. She tried to get his attention so that he could help her but instead he acted as though he didn't see her. He considered helping her but he changed his mind and leaves but at some point he stopped.
