Chapter 11

Valeria assessed her strategy of escape, it would be difficult seeing as she was surrounded by several wolves, granted many were quite small. It was the alpha that made her be concerned. Just the color of his wolf's fur told her he was dangerous.

She stood her ground as a small breeze blew her way and an odd scent engulfed her senses. The smell of sandalwood and a mossy smell filled her nose. "No fucking way." She replied, staring at the large black wolf in shock. Why did the have to happen to her? Her heart gets broken just the day before by her mate, only to run into her second chance mate the next day. The Goddess Selene must really of wanted a grand laugh to play this sort of trick. Without realizing, Valeria took a step forward before the large wolf growled, bent low, and tackled her to the ground.

The black wolf snapped in her face as she turned her face away to avoid his large canines. Just then, the wolf ears pricked up and she felt a wet nose sniff her neck. The black wolf quickly lifted his head and backed away from her. She looked toward the wolf only to see him shifting back to a human. The man was gorgeous. Everywhere she looked was sinewy muscles, a large broad chest, thighs the size of tree trunks, and... even Valeria flushed at the sight of his large manhood. She looked up to his face and saw the smile that played on his lips at seeing her turn red with embarrassment. He had dark, jet black hair, and dark eyes as well. Valeria couldn't help but imagine what mating him would be like.

'Valeria, we were just rejected by our other mate and you're already wanting to jump his bones?' Sarya was feeling disgusted with Valeria's though process.

'Well, he isn't our mate anymore and this one could be.' Valeria stood up and forgot about the other wolves that surrounded her. She was still staring at the man not realizing he had asked her a question.

"Well?" She heard his deep voice. She wasn't sure how to answer.

"I'm sorry, I missed the question. Why don't you repeat it?" Valeria couldn't help but strut a little, her animal instincts taking over to attract their mate.

The man raised his eyebrows, his eyes getting darker with desire. Valeria couldn't help but want to seduce her wolf mate. She wasn't sure why she had another mate, but she wasn't going to let him deny her. Becoming braver, she took a step toward the alpha.

"I said, which pack did you belong to, rogue?" His tone told her to not progress any further. Valeria looked into his eyes and knew he wanted her. She could also see that he was resisting the pull.

'What do we do?' Sarya asked a small squeak in her voice from fear.

'Don't be afraid, wolves never fear those beneath them.' Valeria looked at the man and replied, "I was a member of the Grey Moon pack, I left because Alpha Conrad continuously beat me and made me a slave, thinking I wasn't alive in my human. But I very much was, I convinced her to leave the pack, especially after our other mate rejected us." Valeria saw a flash of anger in this alpha's eyes.

"Your other mate? The Goddess Selene does not give us two mates. Why would the goddess give you two mates?" The man walked toward her, circled her, and was sizing her up.

"I'm not sure." Valeria looked up to her left and saw how close he was. She couldn't help but become aroused by the power he emitted. She could see his nose flare as he smelled her arousal.

The man leaned closer to her, "I can smell you." His fingers circled her arm and pulled her flush against him. "Don't think just because of the mating call that I will accept you either, especially when I can smell another alpha in your scent." He was a breath away from her lips and Valeria could tell he wanted to kiss her. He turned his face away from Valeria and started to drag her with him further into the forest.

"Where are we going?" She asked, wondering if he'd bother with a reply. With his long strides she was having difficulty keeping up with him. Whenever she tripped over something, he'd just yank her up and continue. After a while of walking, they came upon a large pack house. It was easily large enough to house over 100 young wolves, plus many other small to larger houses spattered the hillside behind it. It was no wonder Alpha Conrad didn't dare to take even a step into this territory. The wolves looked dangerous and easily well trained based on their muscle definition and size.

As she looked around, she heard a deafening growl coming from in front of her. She looked at the alpha, she was surprised that his eyes were watching her. He had seen her looking at the other wolves. She realized he was jealous that her attention was so focused on other men. Next thing she knew, she was pulled forward against his side and an arm wrapped around her waist.

"Just because I don't want you either, doesn't mean that you can ogle my men. Keep the idea of being with them out of your mind." She could feel his fingers grasping at her waist and pulling her toward him even more.

"Oh believe me alpha, if I wanted one of them..." Her hand went to his collar and pulled so he had to look at her, ".. you'd know."

Growling even louder, he quickened his pace. He sped through the pack house so quickly that she didn't have time to see anything besides the large dining area for the pack before she was flung over his shoulder and carried up the stairs. She put her hands on his lower back to steady herself and and saw several wolves with shock on their faces as they stared after her and their alpha.
