I stared at Cassandra, shocked. My heart sank to the pit of my stomach, terrified of what was about to come. She looked furious, but for a split second, she smirked at me.
“What are you doing here?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
I looked into the house, to make sure Declan hadn’t heard anything. I knew Cassandra was going to try to ruin everything, and I wasn’t going to let that happen.
She stepped in menacingly, and I stepped back, too shocked to do anything else.
“You really don’t listen do you?” she hissed at me. Cassandra smirked at me for a brief second, so brief that I thought I imagined it. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
“What…?” I started, but before I could figure out what was going on, she took a deep breath and yelled.
“What do you mean there’s nothing you can do about the story?!”
“What are you doing?” I whispered, my heart about to beat out of my chest. I didn't want Declan to find out like this. I had a plan, and Cassandra was about to ruin it.
