Hudson's Point of View
I woke up to the piercing sound of my phone because of the caller. I grasped my head as it seemed to crumble and was ready to detach from my body. I shifted my eyes to the side table, intending to pick up the phone that had not ceased to ring. I changed my position, leaning against the headboard.
I stared at my screen, looking at who the caller was and gasped in surprise to discover who was calling. My head seems to be about to ache considerably worse. Yet, I could do nothing except answer the phone.
"What? Have you changed your mind, and are you determined to never return to your old self?" As a result of my father's foreword, I squinted my eyes. I had only just awoken, yet his preaching instantly opened up to me.
"Please, Dad, not now. Why did you call?" I protested in a surly tone.
He was silent on the other end of the line, and his voice got breathy, indicating that he was upset with me again. I stopped speaking to avoid adding to his stress.
After a few minutes of silence, he had already stated the reason for his call.
"This weekend, there will be a family gathering; you must come!" He made his declaration to me. "If you didn't show up, I won't save your sully reputation! I'm sick of hiding your holes!"
"Don't worry, I'm going." I felt bored while responding to him. "I'm going to hang up because I still have work to do." I lied.
I did not wait for him to react and immediately disconnected the conversation. I returned my phone on the table's side, stood, and walked directly to the washroom.
I instantly moistened my face with water and peered in the mirror. My two hands were placed on the sink as I reflected on the events of the previous night.
"No lady has ever treated me that way; who is she to leave me alone as if I were a hired man?" I gazed closely into the mirror, my jaw clenching. As though my ego had been stomped as a
result of what that lady did. I hastily straightened my posture and exited the washroom to get my phone.
I'm going to contact my personal assistant.
He answered the call after the first ring.
"I can't go back to the office today, but I want you to find someone." I thought for a moment and remembered that I didn't even get that woman's name. "Investigate who was with me last night at Raymond's villa. Find out everything about her as well as her record; keep an eye on her."
"Got it, sir. Don't you have anything else to order?"
I reckoned about what my assistant said and recalled what the lady said last night. "Also, find out who was the last man she had a relationship with."
I cut off the line after I gave him instructions. When I hung up the phone, there was a knock on the door. Assuming it was the woman, I made bold steps toward it.
But when I opened it, Raymond looked welcomed me with a straight and playful smile.
"Look at you looking shit despite what my maid reported to me." He lifted and lowered his eyebrows as if implying a message. My face grew even more irritated because of his words.
"What?" I'm not in the mood.
"My maid informed me this morning; she saw a lady running away from your room. The woman is pressed for time." He shrugged and crossed his arms on the door.
I stayed mute and did not reply to what he asserted. The bitterness awoke inside me each time I imagined the girl had abruptly left me.
"To be completely candid, I'm quite surprised."
"And why is that?" I promptly responded.
"I know you. I'm the only person I know who you trust with your secret. I know you're just pretending to play with a lot of girls because it's the only way for you to stop the pain that's still lingering in your heart." He paused briefly, probably thinking I had something to say, but continued. "To keep yourself standing as if you hadn't fallen."
"I was irritated with her because she stated she would pay me! Am I that sort of man?" I raised my voice even though the lady was not in front of me. "I feel like she exploited me because after we did "that," she simply left and assured me that she wouldn't bother me and we would be strangers again."
I even told him everything that had occurred, how I had met the lady and how she had pressed me. I didn't miss anything in my story.
"Can't you believe it?" Last time I grumbled to him.
Raymond laughed out loud as he gripped his stomach. He was also wiping the corner of his eye due to the extreme laughing.
"Do you know why you are like that now?" He was already fighting his laughs. "Why?"
"Because you have the admiration you have for her! She captured your heart away since her determination and face are appealing to you!"
I could not speak because of what he explained. Even though I wanted to reject, it was as if something had lodged in my throat.
"How long are you going to wait? Locate that lady! Tell her of your feelings!" He encouraged me. My lips curved into a grin, not saying that I already did.
