Ronnie chuckled on hearing him and said, "Dan that's a long story. I'll update about it later. For now get all these things done as soon as possible. I should be able to board the flight at any cost tomorrow." Ronnie said.
"Understood Sir. Let me get back to you." Daniel replied and they both hung up.
Later Daniel kept wondering, 'Our cold boss who never interacts with women except on work, who's never had a girlfriend till date is with a female companion? The way he told about her, she must definitely be someone important. Let me get things ready for now.' He made a series of calls after that.
Ronnie then told the General that his Assistant would book the tickets for tomorrow's flight and that they should reach the capital by then.
The General agreed and called his subordinate and instructed him. "Get the Jeep ready. We'll be leaving along with our guests to drop them off at the capital."
"Yes Sir!" The subordinate saluted and left.
The General then told Ronnie, "Sir, it's going to take us about five to six hours by our Army jeep to reach the capital. Based on which flight your subordinate has booked we can leave here."
They waited for about thirty minutes before they got back Daniel's call.
"Hello Dan. All set?" Ronnie asked him
"Sir the flight is at half past two in the afternoon. I hope you will be able to reach by then? All other arrangements that needs to be done here are done too." Daniel had followed his boss's orders.
"Very well then. I'll get back to you Dan," and he hung up.
Ronnie then told the General about the flight details for which the General said, "Well sir, it would be perfect if we leave here early in the morning after breakfast. We can reach there well on time before your flight."
He continued, "well sir, you can go rest for tonight. I'll see you tomorrow," saying which they bid good night and Ronnie left to his tent.
Meanwhile, Da Nuru and his wife had already slept off. Jayne was unable to fall asleep since her mind was clouded with too many questions about Ronnie on one hand and about herself on the other. She had questions like:
We're moving out of this country? But what if this is my home?
What about my family? Won't they search for me? How can I leave suddenly?
I don't even know anything about Ronnie. Of course I trust him. But...
Am I ready to give it a try?
She was totally lost.
Hence she was sitting alone outside their tent deep in thought. She was wearing Ronnie's jacket. It carried his warmth and she hugged herself. Looking up, she saw Ronnie coming out of the General's tent.
He had one hand in his pocket while the other remained outside. The lighting was quite dark, she could roughly see his tall, slender silhouette calm and handsome. Her heart began to race just by the way he was approaching her. She involuntarily got up and her mouth curved upwards. She felt like she could see the light of her life.
Ronnie too smiled back and walked up to her and he was silently gazing at her with his deep, dark brown eyes all this while. He lowered his head and kissed her forehead which was now wrapped with a bandage and gently hugged her.
Jayne would always feel protected in his warm yet firm hug. She hugged him back. She breathed through his manly scent which was mesmerising. They remained like that silently without speaking. For anybody who'd look at them, it looked picture perfect. Two lovers in each other's embrace peacefully under the moonlit night.
