After Klast left, Katelynn stood there with a dumbfounded face. She still couldn't believe what she just heard. She hates Klast to the core for the reason of her family's death but being insulted by him didn't arouse this hatred.
Katelynn just felt... dumbfounded. That's the only word she can describe it.
But after a few moments, she remembered that she has to go to school. When she got into her room though, she stopped for a moment.
"Wait... why do I have to go to school?"
She asked herself. Going there is no different than being in a shithole if anyone asked her. However, she continued to fix herself. Klast brought her there a little bit early so she have a lot of time to prepare.
"I'll show him..."
Katelynn murmured. If she didn't go to school, she felt like she's losing to a battle that never started.
"Always bitching about how unlucky I am? You don't know how much I kept it within me."
She continued to murmur even when she was out of the shower. Since she ate already, she finally set off towards school while wearing long-sleeves again.
Katelynn usually walks her way there. Although she would be outside longer than if she rode a bus, outside and inside are just equally dangerous to her. On the other hand, if she ride a bus, she would be involving a lot of people if an accident occur because of her.
"Can't I complain even for a little bit? How am I bitchy about it? Also, it's true that every accident around me is because it is around me, can't he understand that? That's why I'm apologizing."
Stomping her way through, after half an hour, she finally reached her school. Looking at the other students, she was filled with anxiety. Katelynn no longer talked and just walked in a way that would give her a small presence.
When she arrived there, the class was about to start. At the same time she stepped into the class, everyone's eyes fell upon her. Realizing this, she just lowered her head and walked to her desk. As she sat down, she noticed something weird on her desk.
It was clean.
'Huh? They didn't do anything to it?'
Katelynn was surprised before putting her hands within it-
Squish*
Her eyes widened when she felt something wet within it. She bent down to see a pair of notebooks soaked with water. As she pushed it down, droplets of it trickled from within her desk and dropped onto the floor.
"No...-!"
Realizing what these notes are, she immediately took them and found that the worst-case scenario happened. It's not just a pair of notebooks. Written within it are actually past activities and essays for the teacher to check. Without it, she wouldn't have 'proof' that she actually did those activities and essays.
Hurriedly, she checked them and found not a single page was spared and the ink on them spread washed by the water. While she does so, she could hear sounds of snicker.
The problem was... it did not come from one direction. She raised her head and saw that almost everyone in the class was looking at her and was covering their mouths. But they couldn't hide the fact that they were actually laughing.
"..."
She was speechless.
How could they be so cruel?
She would understand it if it's the usual bullies, but all of them?
The door to the class opened and entered the teacher. He noticed where everyone was looking before he entered and saw Katelynn who had her head lowered again.
"Katelynn, is there a problem?"
The class stayed quiet while three certain girls became a bit nervous.
"Um, can I go to the bathroom?"
She stood up with her head cast down. The teacher no longer pursued and gave her permission. Katelynn held the notebooks onto her and walked out in haste as if hiding those notebooks from the teacher.
But the teacher didn't say anything even though it was rather obvious. He looked over the class, freezing them up before moving on with it.
"Roll call for attendance first."
The teacher ignored it again, making the class and especially three certain girls relieved.
Meanwhile, within the school restroom, Katelynn heavily sighed as she threw the notebooks into the trash can. She entered one of the stalls and just sat down before palming her face.
"I actually forgot to bring those two with me on Friday, how idiotic...!! Do I have to repeat all of them??? AHHHH....."
After regretting for a moment, she returned to the class empty-handed. She looks like a dead person as she entered the class once more. Upon sitting down again, she just remembered that within her desk, it was still a little bit wet with some droplets of water dripping to the floor.
But Katelynn lost her care for it and just wholly ignored it. The class continued on.
On morning break, Katelynn 'escaped' to the bathroom stall and waited for the time to pass until the next period begins again. She repeated this within lunch break and afternoon break too until her stomach loudly grumble, letting her seatmates hear it.
This made her cover her face in shame but at the very least, no one was able to bother her... that is until the class ended.
They could only exit the class after the teacher. So when the last teacher left, Katelynn immediately stood up and went to the exit but-
She was obstructed by a group of girls. There were three of them to be exact. Meanwhile, her classmates were going out, evading them as if this was natural. The only ones left were four boys sitting next to each other as they look at the scene left within the classroom.
"I... I have to go home now."
Katelynn said, hoping that they will just let her go. Unfortunately for her, it was never that easy.
"No, we actually just want to talk to you."
"What... do you want to talk about, Elizabeth?"
She asked. Hearing this, the other two girls at the side laughed at looked at the girl at their center.
"She just called you Elizabeth, Betty, hahahaha!"
