I won't leave your side

Everywhere suddenly went quiet, no one knew what to say. Even James seemed confused.

"What did you just say?" Ares asked in a low voice which made Diana's smile grow bigger.

"Oh you didn't hear me? Your father was the one who pushed your mother off the roof and not me. I just never said anything because he promised he would give me whatever I wanted and would make James King but now that he doesn't want to honor that promise then I guess I can't honor mine" Ares glanced at his father and honestly didn't know how to react.

"Tell me she's lying" Ares said pleadingly as he stared at the man he had been calling a father for how many years. He had grown up with hatred in his heart for Diana because he had always blamed her for his mother's death. He complained to his Goddamn father about this while he had been the culprit all along? That can't be true.

"It was a mistake, a mistake that I regret every second of my life" Ares suddenly saw red.
