After that night in the park, I hardly slept at all. My mind kept returning to the kiss we had shared and what Ethan had told me. It seemed like a private vow, something valuable that was only shared between us. But despite that pleasant recollection, I was certain that our issues would not be resolved.

I was determined to find a method to improve my control over the business, so I got to the workplace early the next morning. My intentions against Richard needed to be taken seriously since he had been scheming for too long in the background. I couldn't let him surprise me any longer.

Ethan entered with two coffee cups as I was getting settled. My heart skipped a beat as he smiled tenderly at me.

After setting one of the mugs on my desk, he murmured, "Good morning."

"Ethan, good morning. I took a drink of the coffee and said, "Thank you," appreciating the little lift.
