Rhett’s POV
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” I turned to the side as I looked at my brother, his body coming around from the back of the car as we stood on the front lawn of the main house in the mage’s compound. I felt my eyes lower as I stared at him with a deadpan expression.
“You’re asking me that right now? When we’re literally in front of their doorstep?” I asked exasperated.
“I don’t know man, I’m just asking!” Hayden’s reply was instant and low, telling me that he was just as nervous as I felt. I hoped I didn’t look as nervous as he did, but I doubted it couldn’t be seen in my eyes. This was definitely a risky situation we were putting ourselves in.
