"Mm... What if Rhea is an adopted child of her parents? Do you think you and her could still be related?" Eris asked carefully. 

"What did you say?" Old man Edward gave a start. His thick white brows narrowed to form a thin line as he stared intently at Eris. Eris was rather composed.

"Rhea is actually an adopted child of her parents" Eris simply said. He had not intended to expose that to anyone but considering the relationship between Rhea and the old man, Eris mentioned it to him. 

He also did that because he could not help but feel a connection between Rhea and this so called grandfather of hers. But how? That woman was the old man's lover who ceased to exist even before they married.
