The Thirty Ninth

That night I didn't sleep very well and woke up feeling unsettling so I took an extra long time in the bath to cool my head and relax. During my bath though I was interrupted by Al'Dae and Elaine barging in buck naked asking me to come down for breakfast. How are you going to properly ask someone something if you're going to brazenly show off your naked body in front of me? I just looked at the two indifferently and brushed them off as I got out of the bath, put on some clothes, and headed downstairs. As I passed them however they fell to their knees shivering, showering my floor with fluids that they proceeded to quickly clean up and rushed to follow me. When everyone finished breakfast together I decided it was finally time to show off my new toys and have my subordinates play with them.

I have learned over time that the mirror golems had a lot more individuality than I originally thought. They are similar to doppelgangers in that they can shape their bodies to any form they like with the exception of me which I find weird but when I asked the reason they told me they would never try to mimic their creator. Each of the mirror golems took on an altered appearance of the ones they originally trained with. For instance the mirror golem that trained with Elaine wore white clothing and had purple hair. Why that appearance is the one she chose is beyond me but I didn't question it regardless. All of them chose alternate colors to the originals so that I could tell them apart.

I took everyone to the colosseum and had the mirror golems make a grand entrance to show off. They vaulted over the colosseum walls and landed in the center of it with a giant slam to the ground. After they stepped outside of the crater they created it was quickly repaired. All of them bowed simultaneously before waiting for everyone's reactions with expectations and excitement. Elaine was looking at them while licking her lips as if she was staring down new prey. Lydia looked... indifferent? She was preoccupied with staring at a new potion she conjured while using a small drop of my blood as the base. Mary started emitting a fiery aura that made her mirror golem slightly shake before regaining her composure. Adela and Celeste just stayed calmed while assessing their alternate selves. Malkin was just having a flexing contest with his alternate while preparing to arm wrestle with each other. Didn't think that Malkin was secretly a muscle head. Divinus was literally shaking with excitement while his eyes were shining. Sicarius was brandishing his daggers while waiting. Nora was...just sitting on my shoulder and her alternate snuck around everyone and is now hugging my leg. Dan jumped out of a shadow and prepared himself for my announcement.

Since he hasn't really gotten a chance to show off to anyone and has been doing nothing but training I decided on who to announce for the first fight.

[Pov Change To Sicarius]

Ever since the day that the Lord has tasked me with safeguarding his only child Divinus I felt a world breaking weight on my shoulders as I trained myself to pass my limit each and every day. The moment that the Lord told me that he had a second child and to keep it a secret from everyone else until he first introduces her was mind boggling for me. The bigger shocker for me was that I had to act surprised when he introduced her as if it was the first time I saw her. The lord told me to train even harder than I have before because what I have been doing was child's play in comparison to what I should have been doing. The lord seeks to go to the outside world to show off the clan's power but says that he has been too easy on us so now he is going to make it harder and train us into the ground only to bring us back up again.

This revelation only made me more excited as to what is to come. I have been tasked with not only clearing a dungeon floor each day with the next being a harder difficulty but also monitor the Lord's daughter and the mirror golems to check up on them. My rigorous training began right after he told me this. I ran towards the dungeon jumping from shadow to shadow moving faster than I ever had and arrived at the entrance. The dungeon core took me to the 21st floor of the dungeon and it was filled with assassin classed monsters with extremely high levels of detection. Right off of the bat I was fighting my worst enemy. The very moment I walked into the first room I was surrounded by kobold assassins all ranging in levels around 200. Was this floor prepared specifically for me? Is that why the lord skipped this floor and chose the 22nd floor when he first dove into the dungeon? Maybe I'm thinking too much about it.

I went ahead and tried something I don't normally do when fighting and I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I let mana flow into my surroundings and heightened my other senses to prepare myself for the incoming attack. The very moment one of the kobolds took a slight step I dashed through its shadow and struck it down. Right after I struck it down all the others attacked simultaneously so I activated one of my skills just for the situation. Death Cyclone, this skill allows me to attack multiple targets at once with a cyclone created by spinning my daggers infused with lifeless mana. All of the kobolds were split in half except for one that saw the attack coming. This one kobold in particular seemed much stronger than the rest and I couldn't read it's level. This didn't faze me however it only made me brace myself for the incoming challenge. The kobold wasn't just a normal kobold however it was a kobold king, an even higher form of kobold lord it was also about eight feet tall whereas I was only five foot and I was a ninja rat so I still had four more evolutions to go through before my supposed limit but looking at this monstrosity make me want to strive to go even further beyond.
