2. The Sunvalon Forest

"Are you okay?"

A moment ago I was playing tag with my sister, now I'm in an unknown place, there's trees all around so I assume I'm in a forest. I look around a bit to try to find the way home when I notice a little elven girl looking at me with a worried face.

- Hey! are you okay? can you hear me? — her voice sounds a little annoyed.

- I'm fine, it's just that I'm lost. Where are we? — I try my best to calm down and analyze the situation, this elven girl can't be much older than me.

- This is Sunvalon Forest, I'm Alice, what's your name?

- I'm Aluber, it's nice to meet you Alice — I do my best to fake a smile to this girl and it seems to work, as she smiles back.

- Where are your parents? You got lost while wandering in the forest? It happens to some travelers.

While the truth is I know where they are, I still have no idea where I am, Sunvalon forest is not a place I remember being close to my palace and elves are a race I've only seen in books. I make the quick decision to pretend being amnesiac, taking advantage of the fact that even though I'm a demon, my appearance is the same as a human's.

I do my best to pretend being lost and confused before answering.

- I don't know, I actually don't remember anything, only my name.

Alice seems puzzled by my answer.

- Maybe you hit your head while wandering? are you sure you don't remember anything?

- I don't, and now that you mention it, my head does hurt a little.

Alice takes a look of determination and grabs my hand.

- I'll take you to my aunt, she'll know what to do.

I just nodded and follow her. I decided to find out where I am and how to return home safely by myself, letting others know I'm the son of the ruler of the demons might not end well for me if I'm really far away from home.
