Chapter 20:Isn't she too young?

Mia

I woke up the next morning feeling sore all over, like I took part in a serious marathon last night.

Maybe I did take part in a marathon because when I lifted the quilt from my body, I was naked.

Turning to my right, I saw a manly figure. My eyes widened in shock when I recognised who he was.

I tried moving again but I was spooned by the man. His breath was soft against the back of my neck and it tickled me a little.

'What happened?' I whispered

I looked around the room, it wasn't mine. I kept wondering how I got here.

Then memories of last night's conversation with Olivia came rushing in.

'I can sense the heat between us. You hate me I know, I don't like you either so don't ask me why' Olivia said

'I dont hate you Olivia. I just don't back down from a war that I didn't start' I told her

'Let's stop fighting ok, I apologise' she said

'For real?' I asked her

'Yeah' she smiled

'Waiter' she called one of the guys serving drinks. When he got to where Olivia and I were standing, he offered me a glass himself and then the next one to Olivia.

'Cheers to no more fighting, complete ceasefire action' she laughed and I joined her.

'Cheers' I said

I don't recall anything after that drink.

'God, what did you do Olivia?' I spoke out loud

'I'm trying to catch some sleep here woman' he roared without looking at me

'Stop' I heard him say to me when I tried to move again.

I was frozen.

'How did you get here Mia?' he asked me with concern in his voice

'You know it's me?' I asked him

'Yes, I woke up before you' he said before sitting upright and leaning against the headboard.

'And I also know you kissed me that night at the tavern' he said

'How did you….?' I tried asking

'I never forgot that kiss. You kissed me last night after sex and it was a match' he said

'You must be an expert at this kissing game' I said

'No. I always make the move to kiss girls but you changed the rules that night and this night' he said

'I didn't kiss you because I wanted to. I just needed to get back at my boyfriend that night, I knew he was watching so I did it' I told him

'That hurt but I can suck it up. I never forgot it' he said causing me to smile

'What about last night's kiss?' he asked me

'I had no idea that I kissed you' I replied

'This moment is supposed to awkward but why isn't it?' He asked

'There's nothing to it. There's no need to feel awkward, sex happens all the time, one night stands and all so we will just pretend that this never happened. We are both adults' I blabbed

'Stop! Just stop talking. This is your first time Mia' he told me as a matter of fact.

'First time?' I asked him feigning innocence

'Look' he pointed towards the bed so I could see the blood stains.

'You took my virginity. I just gave up my virginity to a complete stranger, I have been robbed' I wailed playfully

Logan smiled at this, I was relieved. I was trying to reduce the tension in the room.

'So what, you never took a girl's first time before?' I asked him

'How can you joke about something like this and at a time like this?' he asked me

'I was going to give it to a man someday, this year, next year it doesn't matter' I said

'But you had a boyfriend' he said

'Yes I did. Jacob and I did things together but we never went deep. I just wasn't ready and now you took it without even a warning' I said

'I'm sorry' he apologised

'Thank you' I said

'Look something happened last night. I think someone put a drug in my drink, I couldn't stop myself. I'm sorry.' He apologised again

Why was he being so humble this morning?. I won't fall for his charms.

'Me too' I said

'What?' He didn't understand

'Someone spiked my drink too. I felt drowsy after my last glass of wine and made things very easy for you' I said and made a face

'What, there's more?' He asked me

'Yes. Olivia gave me that drink or she ordered the waiter to give me a drink after pretending to apologise to me' I said

'Oh!, you have enemies' he said

'Yes and it's your fault' I said

'How do you mean?' He asked

I was about answering when there was a banging on the door. We both paused and tried to listen if someone identified themselves but no one did.

'Stay here. I'll check who's there?' He told me

I wanted to use the bathroom so I wrapped the quilt around my body and was moving to the bathroom when I heard and saw the commotion. I was forced to turn and look, now cameras where been flashed all over my face.

'Mr.Adams, who's she?, is she your new woman?, when did this start?, how long have you guys been seeing each other for?, isn't she too young?, so you are no longer gay?' Every reporter at the door wanted to have a piece of Logan.

Logan looked back at me with eyes that were screaming the word sorry. He closed the door behind him.

'What is all this, who sent you here?' he asked

I couldn't even take a pee anymore. Who could have done this and sent reporters here to our room.

I shivered with fear. I sat on the sofa and waited for Logan to finish.

I took out a cigarette and lit it. After three puffs, my trembling body started to calm down.

'I need you here right now' I made a phone call to Kevin

The reporters didn't leave, they kept pushing me.

'I'll answer your questions but, please one person at a time' I smiled

They should have gotten the hint. I don't smile in public.

'Yes you. What's your name and which reporting house do you work for?' I asked

'Ives Anderson sir, from sunrise reporting house' he replied

'I was trying to get some sleep, you came banging on my door. This is what is going to happen, starting next week you no longer have a job, not just you in fact consider that company of yours closed for good' I spoke in a calm and clear tone so all of them could hear me clearly.

This Ives guy gulped a couple of times in fear.

'Who else wants to ask me some questions?' I asked but they all started retreating.

I went back inside just in time to see Mia with a cigarette.

'You can't just smoke with every opportunity you get' I said seizing it from her hands

'What the hell was happening out there?' Mia asked me while moving back and forth around the room

'I have no idea, but someone is planning something. Just calm down ok' I said to her

'What if this gets outside, we'll face public disgrace and humiliation' she sighed

I don't regret what happened between us, I loved that it was her I slept with and not someone else but I can't say this to her now.

Just then we heard another knock on the door.

'That must be Kevin, go get changed' I told her

'I always have to take care of things by myself. Why do I pay you then?. Where were you when someone spiked my drink?' I asked

'Sir, someone spiked my drink, I woke up in one of the rooms of this hotel too' he said

'Shit,shit!' I yelled as I punched the wall

'Please calm down boss' he said

Mia leaves the bath and joins us in the room. I see confusion written all over Kevin's face.

'Mia is also a victim of what happened last night' I said and he nodded.

'Hi sir Kevin' Mia greeted Kevin

'Mia' he acknowledged her greeting

'Get information about every reporter that set foot here this morning, I'll pay them a visit' I said

'And find out who did this' I said again

'Put a call through to Hector, tell him to meet me at the house at noon' I told Kevin

'You can leave' I said to Kevin and he obliged

'Get dressed, we are leaving' I told Mia

'Where to?' she asked me

'Wherever you want to go to. I know you want to see your mum, her surgery is slated for tomorrow morning' I told her

'I don't want to be seen with you after what just happened. What if reporters are still around somewhere?, maybe they want to take pictures and make the headlines tomorrow' she panicked

'You don't want to be seen with me. It doesn't change what happened between us' I said

I was offended by her statement of not wanting to be seen with me. Maybe that's not what she wanted to say but I didn't like it.

'Well I'm sorry if you don't want to be seen with me because I'm coming with you. Your mother likes me already and she instructed me to take good care of her daughter' I played because I needed a reason to be with her

'Logan stop this. My mum only said that because she doesn't know the truth, because you lied to her that I'm your girlfriend. I'm already pissed enough as it is, just go home please. I will call Sophia to come take me to the hospital' Mia said

'Hey!, don't use that tone on me. I am…..'

'What, you are older than I am, I should know my place?' She cut me of

'You've said all of that too many times already' she said

'I was just going to say I'm sorry this happened to you. Say hi to your mum and Connor for me' I said before picking up my things and leaving Mia alone in the room.
