Trance

With one final look at the felled beast’s carcass whose body began to be sink into the earth, I shook my head and got on all fours.

There was no awkward arch in my back that would bulge when a biped would crouch, rather it was as straight as it could be.

My shoulders seemed to pop out of their sockets in order to elongate to touch the ground and my legs mimicked those of a quadruped, angling my body and having my shins hover very close to the ground.

While human, and my natural body disposition is different, adapting to this form grants much more speed. And unlike my flexibility and strength, speed is something I am not proud of, any boost I could get is more than welcome.

‘Let’s hunt’ a low growl escaped my mouth as I bared my teeth and saliva dribbled down my lips.
