The Mysterious Old Man(Prologue)

On a rainy day, a husband and wife, who were commoners were heading home after selling wood in the market. Along the way, they stumbled upon an old man who was on the brink of death. He was holding a baby in his arms and his body was covered in scars as if someone had tried to kill him.

Approaching the old man, with a mix of concern and curiosity. The couple sought to unravel the enigma before them. But before they could utter a word, the old man, with a last surge of strength, entrusted the child to them, his voice a mere whisper against the storm.

"Save him, no matter what," he implored, his words trailing off into eternity as his life faded away.

Confused and unsure, the couple found themselves gazing into the innocent eyes of the babe, each a different color, as if reflecting the duality of his existence. With hair split between shades of white and black, the child seemed like a puzzle waiting to be solved. The baby had a name tag on his clothes, which had the name 'Ahsinav' written on it. He had a necklace around his neck and looked like a member of royalty.

As the years passed, Ahsinav grew under the loving care of Cara, a mother whose heart knew no bounds, and Carmen, a father whose strength supported their modest existence. Despite their poverty, they nurtured Ahsinav and his younger sister Cecelia with all the tenderness of royalty, though their lineage was of common folk.

"Brother, have you heard about that scary tree in the woods?"

"Scary tree? What are you talking about?"

Cecelia's eyes widened with excitement. "You know that old Bodhi tree! My friends told me, there's a scary old man who sits under it."

Ahsinav chuckled, shaking his head. "Old man? Well, whatever."

Initially ignoring his sister's tale as a childish story, Ahsinav found his thoughts returning to the mysterious Bodhi tree and the mysterious figure. After a day of working alongside his father in the forest with his chores complete. He sneaked into the depths of the woods, drawn by a curiosity he couldn't quite quell.

As he neared the ancient tree, Ahsinav's senses prickled with anticipation. Sure enough, beneath its sprawling canopy, he saw the outline of an elderly man. Rather than disturb the peaceful scene, Ahsinav chose to observe from a distance, finding a perch among the branches of a nearby tree. From the distance, he watched as the old man, sat in quiet meditation.

The elderly man's chant echoed softly through the air, a melody of ancient words weaving together to summon forth a manifestation of raw elemental power. As the last syllable fell from his lips, the air crackled with energy and, before Ahsinav's shocked eyes, a magnificent dragon appeared, its form a symphony of fire, water, and wind dancing in harmonious unity. Ahsinav's breath caught in his throat, his heart pounding with wonder. It was his first encounter with true magic. and its splendor left him fascinated.

Lost in the moment, Ahsinav's attempt to mimic the elderly man,

suddenly the branch broke, and Ahsinav fell from the tree. With a startled cry, he crashed to the forest floor, narrowly avoiding injury.

"Be careful, young one," the elderly man admonished gently.

Startled by his sudden appearance, Ahsinav looked up, his eyes wide with surprise. "Were you aware that I was there?"

The elderly man's gaze softened with understanding, a knowing smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Of course, I was aware," he replied.

Seizing the opportunity to satisfy his curiosity, Ahsinav posed his questions with youthful eagerness. "Old man, do you know how to use magic? Can you please tell me about it and how to use it?"

The elderly sage regarded Ahsinav with a mixture of astonishment and curiosity, his eyes gleaming with newfound interest. "You don't know how to use magic?" he queried, disbelief degrading his tone.

As their conversation unfolded, revelations spilled like secrets long held in the recesses of time. The sage's surprise deepened upon learning of Ahsinav's tender age of seven, a rarity in the realm of magic where awakening typically happens at the age of ten. Yet, even more astonishing was Ahsinav's humble lineage.

When he asked Ahsinav about his parents, he discovered that they were commoners. Despite that, the sage's behavior remained unchanged, his respect for Ahsinav's parents unwavering. With a gesture of reverence, he turned to them, extending an offer born of both generosity and recognition. "Are you willing to entrust your son to my teaching?" he asked.

Ahsinav delved into the depths of learning under Laka Windlops[The Elderly Sage]. With each passing day, Ahsinav's power grew, his mastery of magic blossoming like a flower under Laka's guidance. Within just two months, he had transformed from a novice into a skilled spellcaster, his chants resonating with the power of the elements themselves.

But Laka's teachings extended beyond the realm of magic alone. Under his mentorship, Ahsinav learned the ways of the forest, honing his skills in hunting, cooking, and the delicate art of ora gathering. Laka's unique ability to unravel the mysteries of magic through the power of chant left Ahsinav stunned, his understanding of the flow of ora deepening with each passing lesson.

Yet, amidst the wonders of his training, Ahsinav's true heritage remained shrouded in mystery. Laka was a keen observer and he noticed that Cara and Carmen were not Ahsinav's biological parents. This was evident because their daughter Cecelia could not use any form of magic, while Ahsinav was gifted with all kinds of magical elements and was liked by the elements.

As the final day of training approached, Laka led Ahsinav deep into the forest. Where reality itself seemed to shift at the mere utterance of a word. "With a single command, "Dome," the world around them transformed." Ahsinav found himself in Laka's own dimensional space.

A magical place where Laka had complete control over everything. The space was filled with mythical beasts made out of different elements, and At the center, there was a massive dragon crafted from earth elements. In that dragon status head, there was a tree that had golden apples growing from them. Laka shouted out, "Does it interest you, hum?"

Laka extended an offer that stirred the depths of Ahsinav's soul: enrollment in the Magic Academy to learn advanced magic. Though tempted by the opportunity, Ahsinav's family burdens weighed heavy upon him.

With a promise to cover living expenses, Laka promised his support for Ahsinav's future endeavors, while reminding him of the academy's minimum enrollment age of ten. As their time together drew to a close, Laka turned his gaze to Ahsinav's parents, seeking answers about Ahsinav's biological parents. Cara and Carmen described the events of the rainy night, telling Laka everything about the old man and what happened.

In the quiet of the night, as Ahsinav was sleeping peacefully, Laka's gaze lingered upon him, "Who would have thought that you would be his child? you don't even look like him maybe it's because of your eyes. he whispered "What can I say? Even God despises you, well, I mean your parents." Perhaps you'll be the first to break that frozen piece before your siblings. Well, well. Best of luck. Let his legacy guide you in uncovering the truth about this world.
